STORY:
Tamil cinema has proved a lot giving few different movies in the Past. One must really appreciate The fact that there are people
around to try
something different in this "Masala Movie
World". One such try is the Latest and a Very
different movie "12 B". It's really left to people
whether they are going to Accept The movie or not. Although the
movie 12 B was not received as it is deserved to be this movie
for sure stands apart from the Normal "Kodambakkam
Kottu Kari Masala". One thing is for sure you have to closely watch the movie. There are two Characters (New Face Shyam). The hero Shyam is a Guy who is looking for an interview. He gets his interview card and goes to the Interview. He has to catch a Bus (12 B) to go to the interview. The movie is based on "What will happen is Shyam Catches the bus" And the Second one is "What will happen if Shyam Miss the Bus". One has to understand that these two Stories Run Parallel in this movie and must keep in mind that there is no Connection between the Shyam who missed the Bus and the Shyam who got the bus and attended the interview. Also one has to keep in mind that the Characters involved in the movie has no connection between one Shyam and the other one. There is No Flash Back or There is No Two Separates Stories. Confusion right!!!
Ok let me come to the story. The Shyam who gets his bus at the right time goes and attends the interview and he is provided with all the comforts like Good Salary, a Company car and the medical Expense to cover his Sick Mom. Once this scene is over New Director JEEVA rewinds the Movie and Shows "WHAT IF" Shyam Misses the "12B" bus. An Auto comes in the middle and the hero misses the bus. He was not able to get to the interview at the right time and He does not get the Job. These two Story run side by side. That is "Shyam's" Story who got the Job and "Shyam's" story who missed the Bus and Job. The only distinction between these two people is the guy who missed the Bus will be having a "Small DADI and a sad face" and you have to keep in mind that the story is not a Flash Back and its running Parallel.
One has to really appreciate the way the movie was taken. The one who missed joins his friend VIVEK who is running a Mechanic
Shop and he falls
in Love with Jothika, The Romance between Jothika and Shyam was
so sweet and one of "AAAA" class Romance i have seen
this year. Especially when "SHYAM" rides his bike near
the bus stop where JOTHIKA stands with her friend and Shyam
riding the bike near her and giving life to an Ugly Looking PATTI
who Sells "KEERAI" and asking her to
get down in the Next bus stop was really funny. Similarly the
Other Scenario Shyam that is the guy who got Job becomes Famous
in the company and his Boss "Super Simran" falls in
Love with Shyam who always looks sad and Has lost everything in
her life. Keep in Mind that There was a Big "IF
STATEMENT" which I explained In my First Paragraph.
These Two Shyam's are NOT DOUBLE ACTION. Its just the IF
STATEMENT you have to Keep in MIND when you watch the movie. "Sunil Shetty" gets introduced as Jothika's MAMA. We all know that Jothika is in Love with "Shyam" who missed the bus (The Second Scinario). Sunil Shetty falls in love with Jothika. But unfortunately Shyam sees them Playing with each other like Sunil Shetty Lifting Jothika. ( This is because they both know Each other from Childhood). But Shyam Misunderstands it. Thats the reason Dont Lift any Relative even if She is your own Sister. Eventhough You are MAMA, UNCLE, COUSIN Or what ever it may be this will for sure cause Confusion. This is my Advice and its left to you to Take it or not). On the Other Track Simran Love on SHYAM (The one who Gets the Job) becomes deeper day by day and she decides to express her Love on him.
The Climax is another Touch of Class and for sure Confusion for Every one. Again I repeat that you Have to be clear that it's Not a FLASH BACK. It's a Scenario Based Two Story, which runs Parallel. Both Shyams Meets in Accident in their Respective Stories and gets admitted in the hospital. Both heroines rush to hospital to See their Respective Shyam. One Guy in his story Dies that is Simran's Lover. The other Shayam in his story Comes back alive. When Simran Comes our of the room the Other Shyam walks aside her and the Story Ends !!! I am pretty sure that you guys are confused after reading my review as well as after watching the movie.
SHYAM:
An Outstanding performance from a new hero who is doing his first film. No place in the movie one can say that this guy is a new guy and who is doing the movie for the first time. A Matured performance. For sure he is a Good Looking Tamil Hero who will for sure give a tough fight for the "NNN" number of heroes. Everything is good and one cannot say anything negative about him. He
will be a very good competition for New
Face like Madhavan. JOTHIKA, SIMRAN:
Jothika looks perfect and Cute in this movie. There is a good reduction of Tires, which makes Her to look better. There is no over action and Unnecessary Facial expression which Irritates others. The director had made sure that Jothika does not over act in this movie. SIMRAN comes with a Sad face and cries for everything. She looks sad and does not look that greate as she has lost Pounds. Tamil actress are known for Flesh all over the body and thats how the Fans like. She comes in One Dream Song and Dance without any involvement which looks kind of Odd. There is not even good Hip movement which she is known for. Other than that she is not the normal Simran everyone like to look.
LOLLU COMMENTS:
An Extraordinary direction and a Good story which was taken very well. The movie is very similar to lots and lots of Hollywood movies. Few say that the movie is based on Hollywood movie "Sliding Doors". I watched a movie few months ago which was something similar to this movie. The movie started from Climax and ended in the Start. "12 B" meets all the Hollywood standard with a Quality hero, Great heroines and Beautiful songs by Harish Jayaraj. This guy has proved again that he is a guy with Stuff. Unfortunate thing is the movie is not well received by the audience especially in India. People say that they cannot understand the movie. Few even say that the movie is only for "A" Center. I think its true. The movie will go well only in "A" center. If at all there is some crowd in "B" or "C" center it will be only for SIMRAN and JOTHIKA and if at all they expect any HIP SHOW or LIP SHOW, Sorry there isn't any. I think these kinds of movies must be appreciated and must be received well from the audience. "12 B" is a good movie and its worth 70/100 for giving Not only Something different but Everything different. Hats off to the director JEEVA.
