Rajini movies mean a lot to Tamil Cinema fans and movie Lovers. I am a Great Fan of his movies. Right from the first scene till the end of the movie his movies will have lots of Action, Strong Dialogs, Songs, Dance and what not. He is the only Guy who has a Great Screen Presence and no one can be compared with him. He is known for his sharp Dialogs and Funny Acting. After 3 1/2 Years comes his Latest release BABA. But unfortunately the movie did not meet "What his Fans" wanted !!!!
Rajini spends most of his time with his friends Drinking, Smoking and doing silly things. Expect for his mom Sujatha no one knows about his "Powerful Birth". It seems that he is born with Lots of Powers because of a Saint called "BABAJI" who lives somewhere in the Himalayas for 2000 years. Then Rajini falls in Love with Manisha who lives in the same street. Normally Rajini and Love sequence goes very well in all other movies. For Example Rajini and Kushboo in "ANNAMALAI" or "RAJINI and SOUNDARYA" in "ARUNACHALAM" etc etc. But in this movie there are no Impressive Love Scenes between RAJINI and MANISHA. Both of them were not active and MANISHA was Horrible !!!! GounderMani handled many Dialogs and Rajini was standing behind.
Rajini movies comes with Big Time Introduction Songs and he is known for his Introduction songs. For example in "THALAPATHI"
Kattukuylu Song and in "BADSHA" AutoKaaran
Song rocked the whole theatre. His fans will go mad as his fans
dance for his introduction song. In BABA it was not the case. He
will be standing somewhere and "Tippu Tippu" song was
not the Way we want to see RAJINI. The most Horrible part was
"Shankar Mahadevan's" Background voice and A.R.
Rehamn's Music. Normally it will be S.P.B's Super Duper
Voice with DEVA or ILAYARAJA's Strong and Loud Music with
RAJINI's Screen Presence. Although RAJINI's Dance was Good and Dialogs were Really Strong the Way they were taken was Breaking Fans heart. His Dialog Delivery is the best one can ever see in History of Indian Movies. Like in BADSHA, Dialog delivery reaches its peak that FANS watch the movie again and again and again just for Rajini and his enjoyable dialogues. But in BABA all good Dialogs were Said Slow with no action. The Horrible Part was A.R. REHMAN's Background Music when dialogs were delivered. Whatsoever there were no Co-ordination between Dialogs and the Background Music.
Rajini Happen to get involved in a Clash with the Local MLA "Aarva Kolaru" Aashish Vidyarthi. I think these days "Aashish Vidyarthi" tholla Thanga Mudiyele Pa !!!! His Son uses his power against the poor people and Rajini gets mad and kicks Aashish Vidyarthi's son. The Dialogs like "BABA Count Starts" Were really Good and Rajini was too Good at it. But the BackGround music was horrible again, "Paambuku Magudi Oodara Madiri" Irundadhu. I think DEVA did a great Job in BADSHA. When RAJINI walks that "BAAADDDDDSSSHHHAAAA" music was too good. It's really unfortunate that lots and lots of good dialogs were so calm with no importance given to it by music.
The movie makes a big turn as BABA goes to Himalayas and gets 7 Varams from BABAJI. BABAJI is a person who lives in HIMALAYA's for more than 2000 Years. He wastes his VARAMS and he will be left with two of them. Rajini arranges for a Japanese girl's marriage. The Guy faints when he was about to tie "THALI" because he is not used to Indian Food (SAMBAR, RASAM) etc. Baba uses his 6th VARAM and saves him and atlast he is left with one. Chief Minister comes to know about BABA's magic and he calls him and asks for that VARAM. It seems that he wants to be Chief Minister for 30 YEARS and RAJINI refuses it. From this point the movie changes to "VITALA CHARIYAR" Style God Movie. God movies Fame "AMRISH PURI" comes as a person who tries to Destroy his 7th VARAM and the movie turns from an Average Super Star movie to a RAMA NARAYANAN style God Movie. The Climax is "Is Rajini going to HIMALAYA's or NOT" and the movie ends?????????? with lots of Question marks.
RAJINIKANTH:
Like Everyone I am a Big Fan of RAJINI KANTH and his movies. His movies are very entertaining and everyone likes to watch his
movies. No one
can forget what our THALIVAR's acting in "PADAYAPPA"
, "BADSHA" etc etc. RAJINI was too good in
Dance Sequence. He was fast active and was the usual RAJINI in
this movie. Something was missing in Dialog delivery. It was
unfortunate that Goundermani took most of the comedy sequence
when Rajini was standing behind. I think the Story line was not
the usual one. A mixture of Commercial and Spritual got everyone
confused and I think that was the main problem. Other than that
RAJINI was TOO GOOD in everything although it was not upto the
Mark like his previous movies. MANISHA was horrible. She was not
charming and has put lots and lots of weight. Especially in
Sari's!!! I would like to See MEENA or SOUNDARYA with RAJINI
rather than a heroine from Bombay. They give a Special taste and
essence to TAMIL movies especially RAJINI movies. For Example in
PADAYAPPA Soundarya and RAMYA KRISHNAN played a very important
role in the movie!!! In this movie you can count a BIG ZERO on
the heroine of the movie. SANGAVI and the JAPANESE Girl
KYKO YOMOTO were all wasted. I don't think even if they
were given any good chance to act they will not make any
difference in the movie. It was good that they were out of the
scene. GounderMani was loud and was funny and he made the movie
moving which was really good. It's really unfortunate that the
MAKE-UP MAN did a horrible job with everyone. Nothing special to
say about SUJATHA or AASHISH VIDYARTHI. I think we are getting
bored with AASHISH VIDYARTHI'S Acting. LOLLU COMMENTS:
As a Great fan of our THALIVAR I am disappointed like anyone! GRAPHICS and Tamil movies do not go along very well . People do not like to Watch GRAPHICS in movies. I think GRAPHICS are good for Computer SOFTWARE and CARTOON Movies and not for Movies where RAJINI or KAMAL Acts. I think It will be good for GOD MOVIES in which KARAN or MURALI Acts and not for Our THALIVAR Movies. Unbelievable Stunts makes the things really bad. Songs were really good to hear and one can see out THALIVAR dancing with those songs many times. He is too good and fast in Song Sequence. The biggest drawback in the movie was the HEROINE of the movie. She was not charming and was not good in even a single Scene. Everything was too much! A.R. REHMAN's background music was not good! But the music in Songs was really good. I think the people got really confused with a mixed Story line and Magic's performed by AMRISH PURI. These kinds of scenes will be in FUNNY GOD MOVIES and its really difficult for the fans to see such kind of Silly Magic's in a RAJINIKANTH's movie. Suresh Krishna who gave numerous hits with RAJINI failed terribly in this movie. The movie is Good in few places just because of our THALIVAR. If this movie was acted by any other start Other than RAJINI it would had been in boxes after a WEEK. RAJINI with his magical Power was able to move the movie. I think RAJINI & DEVA is the best combination and the Songs must be sung by S.P. BALASUBRAMANIYAM. The title song must be sung by SPB and Not from anyone else !!! The movie gets 40/100 for RAJINIKANTH!!!
