"CHINATHAMBI" - BLOCK BUSTER HIT MOVIE REVIEW BY "YOUR PRABHU"

P.VASU Presents "CHINATHAMBI". A Movie that broke all most all the records in Early 90's. The movie which was graded as One of the Block Buster hits of 90's. ILLAYARAJA who came out big after a long time and which fetched him lots and lots of awards for the best music of 90's. And of course the two best Love Pair of 90's PRABHU & KUSHBOO in a Super Duper hit "CHINATHAMBI". No one knows why the movie became a big hit. It does not carry a good Story like "AVALUNDA KAMAGAN" nor the movie said a good message to the Public like "ARIYADA PEN KUTTY" or like "MISS. PAMILA". Enjoy my Review on PRABHU & KUSHBOO in CHINATHAAAAMBBIII.

STORY:

The Story Starts like this. A girl baby will be born in a PANIYAR house. Every one in that village will be looking for "CHINATHAMBI" (PRABHU). All that he does is Sing Super Duper hit Songs like

"BA BA BLACK SHIP HAVE YOU ANY WOOL
YES SIR YES SIR THREE BAGS FULL
ONE FOR MY LITTLE TOMMY AND
ONE FOR MY MUNUSWAMY
AND ANOTHER FOR MY KANDASWAMY" (BA BA )

and also Song like

"JOHNNY JOHNNY O PAPA "

"RINGA RINGA ROSES POCKET FULL OF ROSES HASHA BUSHA ALL FALL DOWN" etc.

Suddenly from some where our "CHINATHAMBI" will start his song (Small Age PRABHU). An excellent song by CHITRA with ILLAYARAJA doing the music gets over. CHINATHAMBI's mom MANORAMMA really feels of Proud that she is having a wonderful LOOSE as her Son who Just know how to Sing Songs. Fortunately he did'nt sing songs with MIKE!! The story goes for a while like this.

The scene in which PRABHU gets introduced is really funny. PRABHU will be running with a White VESTI and A white shirt without slippers with another THREE LOOSE holding his hands like a MOTOR BYKE and making sound like a 1980 RAJDOOT like "DRR DRRRR DRRR" in his mouth and running all over that village. Again the Village people will search for CHINATHAMBI. This time the occasion is "KUSHBOO"'s puberty ceremony (PERIYA MANUSHI CEREMONY) and they want PRABHU to sing for the Occasion! KUSHBOO's three brothers RADHA RAVI and another Two are really strict and they do not allow any guy to even see KUSHBOO or talk to her etc etc.

Later Our CHINATHAMBI gets employed by MCI WORLD COM in TULSA, OK. All that he needs to do is take care of the things in MCI WORLD COM like going to NADAR KADAI and buying toffee for KUSHBOO etc. GOUNDER MANI gets introduced as a Person who has Night Blindness and who cannot see anything after SIX O'CLOCK. The scene when he was having nice time with an Extra and when the Bell rings and indicates him that its 6 O'clock and Gounder Rushing to his house and stands before his Dads Photo and Shouts at him ! Really Kalakal!!

PRABHU takes KUSHBOO around Places like WASHINGTON D.C, GALARIYA MALL, ARCO ARENA, SANTA MONICA who has not gone out anywhere ! Slowly KUSHBOO falls in LOVE with PRABHU seeing his innocent nature and KUSHBOO thinks that he will be the "best pair for leading a good Life". Till this point any one can take the GALIJ like "PRABHUS Motor Bike Ride", "His Singing Talent" etc etc.

The Real "GALIJ" starts when KUSHBOO asks PRABHU to tie THALI thinking that If he TIES THALI PRABHU will never get away from her. She asks PRABHU to TIE THALI and our Innocent Prabhu Changes his face like a "DONKEY" and in turn ask KUSHBOO "WHAT IS A THALI" ! "WHAT WILL YOU DO WITH THIS THALI" What is marriage etc etc !!! Machan.... Deye !! Machan.

Some how he ties it to KUSHBOO and runs away from that place making the same Motor Bike Sound with his mouth with his hands hanging in air as if he is holding a motor byke bar.

KUSHBOO hides her THALI from her brothers for a while and she happen to eat once in the Same banana leaf which PRABHU ate (TRADITIONAL SOUTH INDIAN CULTURE) !! Then her brothers' Gets hold of Manoramma and asks where is CHINATHAMBI. Manoramma in turn says I don't know!

Then the major GALIJ starts. RADHA RAVI ties Manoramma with rope and asks his Adyals to Pour Color Water on Manoramma. Keeps her Bottu and Flowers and then Asks a Full Crack to Tie Thali to her. The Loose Also comes Shouting "Enaku Kalyanam".... KUSHBOO who hears about this incident Says to her brothers

"ORU THAIKU THALI KATTA NENACH NEENGAL ELLAM MANUSHANA"

and then splits ½ Liter of "ECHHAI" on her Brothers and throws Flower wash on RADHA RAVI and breaks her bed and Dress mirror and walks on it and sings a Song. PRABHU who hears the song rushes back and at last the movie ends! as LOOSE PRABHU becomes Normal and KUSHBOO's brothers accepting him as a Son in law to that family. Mean while two three Excellent songs comes according to the suituation!

PRABHU & KUSHBOO:

KUSHBOO was very good in this movie. Although she was a little too chubby, she looked very good and her acting was good. After seeing this movie a Temple was constructed for her in Trichy and People started to worship her doing poojai in the morning. It seems that there was a special Archanai For KUSHBOO in that temple ! Even PRABHU, other than his LOOSE Action, he was good. This movie gave a big break for both of them and After this movie PRABHU & KUSHBOO pair became like MUNIANDDI VILAS and BAROTA KURMA!! I think KUSHBOO was the heroine on 90's and she is the only female who had her fans with her for more than Six years!

ILAYARAJA:

Rather than saying that the movie was a big hit It was ILLAYARAJA who made this movie a hit, Almost all the songs in this movie was SUPER and I still remember people Just went to this movie just for the songs. t-stall, Hotels, theatre .....where ever you go All that you here will be songs from Chinathambi. It was a Good break for SWARNA LATHA and MANO who was awarded the best singer of the Year for the SONG

LOLLU COMMENTS:

A movie that was became hit just for Songs and Gonder Mani's Comedy ! A really irritating story and for sure will not run even for a week if the movie is released now. Hope they will not make another movie in which the Hero does not know "HOW TO PISS"!! ILLAYARAJA a legend who Proved that his is a MAESTRO in music. People say that he took only a week to compose Music for this movie. PRABHU and KUSHBOO were sweet in this movie.

It seems that the fat guy (Young Age PRABHU) was P.VASU's son. After this movie P. VASU didn't have any big hits other than WALTER VETRIVEL. Fortunately they didnt Give a MIKE TO PRABHU in this movie. Normally if the hero is a singer in movies he must have a mike in his hand. I grade this movie to be a MUSICAL HIT or early 90's and the best Comedy done by Gounder So far. The movie is worth 70/100.
