STORY:
Livingston proved that he is a good Comedy Actor in his previous movie "SOLLAMALE". Although he is not a regular hero, his movies are funny to watch. SOLLAMALE shocked everyone with its great Story and Comedy. He was great in one other movie with RAMBHA. "En Purushan Kuzhandai
Madiri"
falls under the same category, which has a Sweet Comedy
track and an average Story line that makes us to sit and watch
the movie.The hero Livingston is an average Village "BANDHA GUY" who roams with Vadivelu and projects himself as a big guy in that village. He pays to people who shout "ANNAN VAZGA", "ANNAN VALARGA", "VARUM KALA MUDALVAR VAZGA", "VARUM KALA AMERICA JANADIBADI VAZGA" etc etc and he roams with a Black Color Cooling glass and Vesti, Jibba. His only aim in life is to marry his "MAMA PONNU" DEVAYANI. The initial scenes in the movie were really funny. The scene in which he hangs R. SUNDERAJAN in a coconut tree and beating him was really funny. The reason he gives for beating him up was that DEVAYANI ignored him without getting a present for him when she comes from Chennai. The height of comedy was Livingston imitating "Padayappa Rajini" to catch a Toy snake! The movie runs with lots and lots of comedy by VADIVELU and LIVINGSTON.
The actual story starts when Devayani agrees to marry Livingston hearing about his good heart thinking that he has never ever dreamed about any other girl in the world other than her. Vindhya gets introduced as a "KARAGAM DANCER" and Livingston puts his head into an unnecessary issue to save that poor girl from his Brother "PONNAMBALAM" and keeps her in his Village guest house. But unfortunately after Drinking "Livingston" MATTERS VINDHYA. In tamil cinema the way these hero's matters Heroines is really funny. RAIN will pour like anything. Lightning will come and there will be thunder Storms. The hero will walk near to heroines house with a Vesti after working in a farm or after doing "PANCHAYATHU" in the next village. In most of the cases he will be drunk. He will go inside and see the heroine who will be sleeping with her cloths slightly away from her body. They will have a small touching touching scenes. The hero will touch the heroine's hip and a Big Lightning will come
and the Music
Director will beat his drums like anything. (If it's
Devotional movie then they will show an AMMAN statue with THALI).
Then the MATTER will start and the heroine will become
pregnant. This is what we are seeing from 1960. The same way
Livingston will matter VINDHYA a day before his marriage with
Devayani.Devayani comes to know about this issue after her marriage and asks Livingston not to touch her in her First night. VINDHYA who thinks that she is the reason for confusion tries to go out of that village but PONNAMBALAM threatens her to stay in the village. Livingston happens to meet her quiet frequently. Devayani forgives his mistake and she becomes pregnant. Then the same One man, Two Wife story. The movie ends as VINDHYA falls from a mountain and all those usual Climax and the villain understands his mistake with few funny scenes in the middle.
LIVINGSTON, DEVAYANI, VINDHYA:
A great job by a non-regular hero. It was funny. We don't expect much from these kinds of artist and when they do more that what we expect it comes out great. The initial scenes with Vadivelu were great. Especially R. Sunderajan giving ideas to Livingston to get a good name from Devayani which in turn backfires him were really funny. Vadivelu did a great job in this movie after a long time. But Songs by Vadivelu were too odd. He dancing in front of Swimming pool was too much! Great and funny job by Livingston. Devayani is good in acting in these kinds of movie. But in one scene she comes as NATAMMAI with vesti and Jibba were really irritating. LIVINGSTON made fun of all these NATTAMAI roles. That was really good. R. Sunderajan was really good in many places. VINDHYA looks really great. I never expected her to look that good. Excellent NATTU FIGURE with a round face, nice structure !!

I think you guys would have watched "SUNDARA PURUSHAN" and "SOLLAMALE". Those two movies were really good movies by LIVINGSTON. This movie is one such movie. The movie has a very catchy title "EN PURUSHAN KUZANDAI MADIRI". For sure this movie will be a hit in B and C Centers. At least these kind of movies will not confuse average movie goers in Tamil nadu. But some of these irritating songs with Low class Extras must be avoided in these kind of movies which will be a pleasure of people watching it. The movie will give height of comedy if you like watching comedy movies. I think everyone did a good job in it. The story is a regular and usual ONE MAN, TWO FEMALE movie. Other than that it is an enjoyable one. The movie is worth 45/100 for the comedy!
