"FRIENDS" New Tamil Movie Review By "Your Prabhu"

STORY:

"FRIENDS" is a movie which projects what FRIENDSHIP means to everyone. One can have good time only when he has good Friends around. Its such a wonderful relation anyone can have in the world. Not everyone can get along with everyone. You need to have the same mentality, Same thinking and Same nature for any two to get along for a long time. This movie is one such movie that Projects Friendship between VIJYA, SURYA and RAMESH KHANNA.

The way these THREE become Friends is really funny. Read this with a FLASH BACK Sound like the one in BARADIRAJAA movies. Once upon a time there was a Village called "POONGODI GRAMAM". There was a Rich kid in that Village (VIJAY). His mom SARITHA and his Dad RAJEEV gets him everything. Like they get him Crackers for 10,000 Rupees, Sweets from SARAVANA STORES (80 RUPEES / KILO), New Dress and he enjoys everything in his life while the other two kids "SURYA" and "RAMESH KHANNA" stares from Outside looking at that rich kid. They never get along with each other. But One day VIJAYS sister falls into a River. Little SURYA jumps into the River and Saves her like "MAX BIONDI" swims in OLYMPICS for 100 Meter Free Style swimming. From that day These Three Become Friends and at the same time a LOVE Develops between that LITTLE SURYA and VIJYAS Sister as Surya Saved her Life. I don't know "HOW LOVE CAN DEVELOP BETWEEN A GUY AND A GIRL AT THE AGE OF SIX".

The kids grow fast and at the same time the LOVE between Vijay's sister and Surya develops at the same rate. All the three decides to go to MADRAS and joins VADIVELU's Painting team where they happen to meet DEVAYANI who is the queen of that house. A ONE SIDE LOVE develops between DEVAYANI's Younger sister and VIJAY. She uses a DOVE to say her LOVE and VIJAY&CO accidentally thinks that Its DEVAYANI who sends DOVE to say her love. The movie runs like this with Lots of Blade Jokes. Time comes when a "MAPPILLAI" from US comes to marry DEVAYNI. These days "MAPPILLAI"S will only come from USA to marry the heroine! I don't know why ! SURYA gets into the function and Says that DEVAYANI Loves VIJAY thinking that she is cheating his Close friend.

This will what will happen if you "SEND DOVE" to say your love. There are lots of method to say Love and why the Heck they want to use "PURA" to say I LOVE YOU. My only advice is use EMAIL, INTERNET, YAHOO CHAT to say your LOVE and Please don't Use "PURA" to say I LOVE YOU and You will end up like this. The reason is if you say to "PURA" go and give Letter to GEETHA it will give to SEETHA and SEETHA will fall in LOVE With you instead of GEETHA and the PURA will say that it has already delivered the Letter as if it is USPS or FEDEX.

DEVAYANI takes revenge saying that She will marry VIJAY but after Tying Thali she will not be as his Wife, thinking about her missed opportunity of going to USA in a H4 Visa and Chill out in Miami Beach and NYC. She challenges to SURYA. SURYA who cannot take his Friend being Spoiled by a Women Says NO. But the marriage gets over and SURYA has a feeling that She is going to Ditch his FRIEND VIJAY!! Meanwhile SURYA gets engaged to VIJAYS Sister ( 6 YEAR OLD LOVE) and she sings one duet with SURYA. SURYA thinks that each and every incident that happens in the house is DEVAYANI's evil act. So he gets out and goes to OOTY to do some business like TEA STALL or DOG BISCUIT STALL etc.

Later everyone comes to know about the truth that DEVAYANI is a good girl. VIJYA goes to OOTY in Search of SURYA. He finds him but SURYA runs after seeing VIJAY, In a Fight VIJAY falls in a Suicide Point and SURYA thinks that he is the person Responsible and stays away. But actually he didn't die. VIJAY becomes MENTAL and stays as a MENTAL for years together. The climax is height of comedy. SURYA comes to see VIJAY who is a MENTAL patient. Everyone cries after seeing him, But when SURYA cries his Tears will fall on VIJAY's Hands and a Shock will be passed in VIJAYS hand. VIJAY then recovers from the mental shock and becomes normal and all the three friends joins their hands

VIJAY, SURYA, RAMESH KHANNA:

Vijay was as usual active and good at what he was doing is called as a " Supportive Role" in Tamil movies except for that MENTAL acting at the end. I don't know why SURYA is standing like a "IDUCHA PULI". No acting or action for anything. For all acting he does the same thing ! Either its crying or Love or Fight !! No good Dialog delivery nothing. I think he is good for selling Dog Biscuits in Ooty. Ramesh Khanna did a good job considering his Experience and his back ground. One more movie for Vijay !

DEVAYANI, ABHINAYASHRI:

Devayani is a good for nothing creature which has to be kept in "ISLAND GROUND EXHIBITION" which is conducted in Chennai right now. She comes in Modern Dress. People say that she is a Homely figure. These days the "Arajagam" these Homely Heroines do in the movies is becoming more. No one can take DEVAYANI coming in Jeans and Pants and dance with VIJAY ! Kodumai Da Swami !!! God Save us from DEVAYNI, KOUSALYA, SUVALAKSHMI!!! World is going towards SNEHA, SIMRAN, SHILPA SHETTY and i don t know why they are still there. "ABHINAYASHRI" is a good introduction although she comes for couple of Scenes!

LOLLU COMMENTS:

The Lesson Leant from this movie is "IF YOU LOVE SOME ONE" Don't use "PURA" to say your Love. Go directly and say "I LOVE YOU" or else this is what will happen. I don't' know how in those Days these KINGS send their Love Letter Via "PURA". I am pretty sure that all those LOVE are Flops. SARITHA gives her appearance in the screens and she exactly looks like a "KUTTY YANAI" that is 4 Years old. That too when she walks She exactly looks like a "KUTTY YANAI" walking into MUDUMALAI Forest to have Sun Bath. I don't know why the hell they come on screens after becoming YANAIS!!

SURYA needs bad treatment. How can someone say that he is an actor when he just come and stand and go. VIJAY was cool as usual. Few say that the first half of the movie was funny, I don't find anything funny as all the scenes are copied from the other movies. The movie is worth only 45/100 and its no big deal just projecting three hero's to be FRIENDS. Nothing special other that 2 ½ hours time pass.
