A NEW TAMIL MOVIE REVIEW "GEMINI" - BY YOUR PRABU

"Kasi" Vikram, "Bombay Import" Kiran, Vaiyapuri, 'Kalabhavan' Mani, 'Kerala' Murali, Manorama, Charlie, Dhamu in a New Tamil movie "Gemini". Music by "Bharathwaj" and the movie directed by Saran. Enjoy my New "O Podu" review on Gemini.

STORY:

Gemini is a typical Tamil movie with a Good Mixture of Fight, Romance, Songs, Sentiments, College Sequence, Comedy etc etc but nothing makes a big impact. After couple of big hits and outstanding performance "Vikram" has stepped down to do a normal Rowdy role in "Gemini". Of late all the movies in which top hero's acted as Rowdy has become super duper Flop's and this movie is an exception. Not that the movie is great or different, Its just because of the HERO who is emerging as a big star.

Vikram is a Local Rowdy and who is a big guy in that area. He is a typical Rowdy Hero who hangs around with 10 Rowdies in that area and he helps people and all those 'Usual Hero/Rowdy' Formulae. As usual he has another Rowdy in that area Kalabhavan' Mani' who is a competitor in his Rowdy business. He has another 10 people has his 'ADIYAL'. He does all these common things like hanging in a RED MARUTI VAN with Knives, which looks like 'PARUPU KADAYARA MATHU", K.B Toys Water Gun, Gold Chain, Leather Shoe with Red Eyes etc etc, Chasing those Poor Girls in his area. Vikram and that Rowdy hate each other. In the meantime Vikram falls in love with a North Indian Girl 'KIRAN' and sings a duet in Ice filled mountain.

Then the heroine asks Gemini to come and study in her college. So Gemini joins BA (ECO) with her. This is how a Rowdy turns into a College student in the movie. He was correct because college is the best place for FREE JOLLU these days. It was quiet different because in Movies hero and heroine will meet and fall in love only after joining College but in this movie they first fall in Love and they decide which college to go and they join the same course and then continue their LOVE.It's a very good idea and One can follow the same idea to be Very successful in their love. (JOINING SAME COLLEGE OR COMPUTER COURSE OR SAME UNIVERSITY OUTSIDE INDIA) After falling in LOVE. I think joining Same University outside India is Quiet Common these days and many LOVE continue these days like that. Then the same old College ragging etc and VIKRAM kicks those people etc and sings a duet again with the heroine.

Then between these two rowdies a Good police officer comes into picture "Kerala" Murali. He gives an opportunity for him to change in his life and he obeys his words and becomes a good guy. This is how Hero changes from a College Student /Rowdy to a Good Hero. But unfortunately Villain refuses to change. The climax is clash between Villain and Vikram. Meantime KIRAN comes to know that he is a rowdy and refuses to marry him. Then the same old irritating Climax with regular fights ends the movie! A big disappointment.

VIKRAM:

After a wonderful performance in Sethu, Kasi, Dhil this movie is for sure a step down from his regular acting talents. It's a typical rowdy movie with no salt or Sugar to it. He has done his role up to his mark but I think I expected more from him and it was a big disappointment for me. But one cannot expect every movie of a hero to be like KASI or SETHU. A very normal or average performance from a hero who is capable of doing much better than this one. The movie was missing that 'DHIL" touch. Nothing special to say about the new heroine KIRAN.

LOLLU COMMENTS:

A typical North Indian Bombay girl with No great acting talents or with no great or Attractive looks. But her dancing movements were enjoyable. Her short shorts and tight costume brings nothing but irritation. Had this movie was with some other hero it would had been a total flop. Too much of masala was added to this movie. I forgot to say the mother sentiment. Manorama (WHITE ANGEL) says that he is a poor lady and gets added to this rowdy gang and later says that Vikram and company killed his son and he is waiting for an opportunity to take revenge. The villain was irritating in this movie. He does various different actions like different animals and he was like a comedian rather than a villain. He missed that 'Aashish Vidyarthi' touch in Dhil. Altogether this movie is a below average movie and for Vikram's classes this movie is way below normal. One thing that was catchy in this movie was that "O PODU" song which makes you dance. Other than that this movie gets 40/100.
