STORY:
Tamil Movies are known for its "Navarasam". In 2 1/2 hours our Directors know How to give everything to our fans. Most of the movies will have Love as its Main subject for 2 hours which includes Songs in Switzerland, Holland, Poland Etc etc and
fight for 10 minutes with Villan, 10 minutes
Mother Sentiment and 10 Minutes of comedy. Only when you
have the above mixture people will agree it as A movie. If any of
the above is less then however good the movie is People will
Think odd about the movie. One good example is the recent T.
RAJENDER's "SONAL THAN KADHALA" where "MIKE"
Murali proposes ROJA every 10 Minutes. I don't know How
some one can Propose a female every 10 Minutes and say "I
LOVE YOU" with a Donkey face."Kunguma Pottu Gounder" is a Great Movie with all the above with A BIG MESSAGE to public. After seeing the title of the movie I thought Its one of those regular Satyaraj's "GALIJ" Movies as the name itself is the Biggest "GILMA" !!! If you are wondering what's the meaning of "GALIJ" and "GILMA" for sure I don't Know what is the meaning. I am doing a big research of finding the meaning of "WHAT IS GALIJ" and "WHAT IS GILMA".
The story starts in a real cool way. Satyaraj and Gounda mani works in a Saree Shop and both of them are uneducated. They both don't know how to sign. Satyaraj's wife Rambha is also an uneducated female. Unfortunate thing is RAMBHA comes in Saree in this movie!!! HA HA HA HA!!! Quiet unusual to see RAMBHA to come fully covered in movies. Satyaraj's only dream in life is to make His son an educated guy. He wants his son to join in the best possible school in the city. He wants his son to talk English. A typical dream of a poor Uneducated Working family head. The First 45 minutes of the movie is full of Satyaraj & Goundamani comedy which we missed for years together. No one in this world can beat Goundamani's Timings and dialogs. No comedian is a substitute for our "ONE AND ONLY" Goundamani. That too when he joins SATYARAJ It reaches to the peak. The combination of Satyaraj's LOLLU and "Gounds" NAKAL is nothing but "SUPERB".
Time comes when Satyaraj goes to the School for his sons admission. The school is a typical "PETER SCHOOL" in MADRAS where they expect the parents to be Atleast a Graduate. His application gets rejected because he is not an Graduate. But Satyaraj whose only ambition in his life is to make his Son a well educated guy wants to make sure that his son somehow gets admission in the Most popular school in the city. So he seeks the help of KOUSALYA who is a Graduate. He request KOUSALYA ( ALL INDIA CHAPPA FIGURE MUNETRA KAZAGA PRESIDENT) to act as the kids mom for a while till he gets admission and KOUSALYA agrees thinking that its for a good cause. This idea is "GOUNDS" idea.
Time comes when RAMBHA comes to know about this drama. "GOUNDS" and "SATYARAJ" are taken for ride by "RAMBHA". She thinks that there is some connection between "SATYARAJ" and "ALL INDIA CHAPPA FIGURE ASSOCIATION PRESIDENT" KOUSALYA and leaves home and goes to her Dad's place. Similarly Karan "Current Boy friend" of Kousalya thinks the same and rejects her love. Kousalya thinks that Its no good of being in this world and decides to suicide falling into "MUTUKADU" River. I don't know why the heck all suicide scenes are shooted in that "MUTUKADU" Boat house. Everytime a heroine will fall from that bridge and Villains will call the female to "Sleep with them" before committing suicide and Hero will fall into the river and save the Heroine. I think that water there is Only 5 feet so nothing will happen. Satyaraj thinks that he is the reason for all the confusion and brings Kousalya to his house and RAMBHA concludes that there is something going on !
The last 45 minutes is really a highlight of the movie. The director has said the message in a very cool way without much advice and at the same time maintaining the comedy of Satyaraj and Gounder. His son gets selected as the Best Student in the school
and
he is awarded by the GOVERNOR. He is called on
stage and asked to talk a few world and then he explains
"How he suffered to get admission" in the school and
what problems he faced to make him study and explains to the
school principal that "The best student" of the school
is a son of an ordinary worker and not son of a Graduate and
makes them to understand That everyone has the same feelings and
everyone wants their kids to get good Education. Really it was a
great climax without overreaction and a Great message in A very
nice way.SATYARAJ & GOUNDAMANI:
Nothing can beat this combination. Especially when GOUNDS says "MAKALE" and Some funny dialogs. Satyaraj has again come out with a great performance in this Movie. No overreaction and timely Jokes with Gounds. He has exactly shown how an Uneducated father will dream about his son's education in a cool way. But that "APPA SATYARAJ" role is too much with a wig that too Black wig.
RAMBHA:
Rambha was the highlight in this movie. Normally to do character roles there is A female called "DEVAYANI" in Kodambakkam and she irritates us to the core. Fine Artist like RAMBHA are used as "KULUKU" Nadigaigal and they come in modern dress and normally they don't do character roles like this. But Rambha has proved that she can do character roles too. She didn't disappoint our crowd! She comes in a dream song showing her "thunder thigs" for our jollus. Regarding Kousalya her "EYES" are becoming like JURASSIC PARK "DIANOSOUR". Her eyes are much more Bigger than her face and that too when she looks in anger thats it. It will be Nice to find a good replacement for these "ALL INDIA CHAPPA FIGURES" like Kousalya, Suvalakshmi etc etc etc.
LOLLU COMMENTS:
An excellent movie with a good message and with a Great comedy. Satyaraj and Goundamani are the Highlight. A message said in a light way with comedy is the specialty. This Movie will be a good lesson for schools Which demands the kids parents to be educated. I don't find any reason why the Parents must be educated. The movie title and the theme are no way connected. The movie as such is a great Movie and don't underestimate The movie with the "TITLE" NAME. A great movie and a good entertainer and a great message makes this movie a super "MOVIE". The movie is doing good back home. Articles in Many magazine gave good rating to the movie and Commercially the movie is doing good too. The movie gets 70/100 for a good Message and great comedy by Gounds although there are few flaws here and there which is OK!! Enjoy your Weekend !
