STORY:
Few top end Hero's needs to be Over Projected. They cant come and
act as a normal hero because they carry lots and lots of 
other things
apart from Acting. Their main aim is not to act but to project
themselves as God so that they get a soft corner from their fans.
One such movie which over projects a hero as God in a Village
based "Ettu Patti Rasa" story is
"MAAYI". It has been fun watching movies for a
while in which Hero's will wear a KADAR JIBBA and KADAR
VESTI having a Big Mush and solving People problem.
MAAYI is no exception to a Traditional Thirunelveli style Village
Subject.
Mayandi so called as "Maayi" (Sarath Kumar) is
the God for that Village. His word is the final word for those
Village guys. He comes with a Weird hair style like a "SAPI
POTTA PANANG KOTTAI" and with a weird Mush which looks like
a Donkey tail and which has its ends Projected towards his Red
eyes. He also comes with a Three Layer "SANDANA
PATTAI" with a RED Bottu in between that Three
Layer Pattai with Kadar Shirt and Kadar Vesti which is tied only
upto his Knees and he never wears Slippers etc etc and saying
dialogs like "ENTHA MAAYI SONNA SONNADU THAN" etc.
God Save the people. I dont know how many movies Hero's like
Sarath Kumar Projects themselves as GOD and GODESS and fool
People by Boosting their image in movies.
There is nothing to say about the story because there is not one
like that. The whole movie Projects Our SOUTH INDIA
ARNOLD as God and various good things he does for the
welfare of that Village. The following are the few
1. When "MANORAMMA" gets kicked by her
Son who hides CHICKEN KURMA and giving her WATER RICE our
"Maayi" appears there and says to Manoramma that she is
his Mom from now and Advice us that Mother is like God and we
must respect our mom with a Red Eyes. What a good Advice to
Public!! HA HA HA HA!!
2. Conducting marriage to the females in that Village considering
all the females in that village as his Sisters and giving them GODREJ
BERO and Bed as "Sidanam".
3. Constructing Schools for the poor and Hospitals for the people
in that village so that the village people can study. etc etc .
All 
these
over projected scene just bought me irritation and how these
movie directors are fooling people around.
Meena gets introduced as a girl who comes to the village and
without knowing who Maayi is she tries to fool around with Maayi.
As usual Maayi takes all the Galij Meena does to him without
showing how great he is for the village people. Later Meena comes
to know about Maayi's Power and how great he is in that area and
how much people respect "Maayi" and falls in Love with
"Maayi" and propose "Maayi". Maayi who stays
as a Bachelor Boy says his FLASH BACK Story to MEENA why he is
BATCHELOR for years. It seems when Maayi was born his mom was
affected by Leprosy and he didn't get that love from his mom.
Just because he didn't get the love from his mom he tries to stay
away from all the girls in this world and all those
MOTHER SENTIMENT in the flash back with a SENTI SONG WHICH was
the height of irritation. The movie ends as MEENA marries SARATH
in a Crazy climax which was again over projected.
SARATH KUMAR:
I don't know what's the aim of Sarath Kumar in this movie.
Although his character has lot of weight one cant see hours
together of over projection on someone. The height of Galij in
this movie was the scene in which he used to sit in the floor in
Collectors office where there was 10 to 15 chairs. When the
collector asks why he is sitting in the floor instead of the
chairs "MAAYI" will say " Tharai than
Nirandaram and Chair Table are not Nirandaram". Machan
Iladallam konjam Overa Theriyele. I think The only thing that is
Nirandaram for Sarath Kumar is "KARADI ROLE". He can
try acting like KARADI and he can do a Dual role like KATTU
KARADI. That will be one real good thing to watch.
Another real Height of irritation is the way SARATH KUMAR
drinks "KUZU". He sits as if he is going to
SHIT in the morning in center of his house and drinks that KUZU
as if he is affected by Leprosy. It was something similar to MGR
in Adimai Penn where MGR Used to drink Water like Street Dog tied
in a rope. I don't know why someone want to drink something
sitting as if they want to Shit. His duet with MEENA was also of
no good.
MEENA:
Meena so called as "Malgova Mambazam" (Not by me) but
by the tamil cinema fans around the world has nothing to do in
this movie as her characted was supressed by
"Maayi" Character. Meena is one artish who
takes challenging role like the one in "Barathi
Kannanmma" or "Vetri Kodi Kattu" or "
Vanathai Pole". For the name sake of having an heroine Meena
was introduced and nothing great about her. She comes in one hot
song sequence but it never suits Meena. Other than that nothing
special. The comedy done by VADIVELU was OK and was enjoyable and
As usual Kovai 'Sarala' slaps vadivelu.
LOLLU COMMENTS:
The right name for this movie would be "MAYIRU PUDUNGARA
IEE" and not "MAAYI". I want to really meet these
"NATTAMAI's" and "PANNAYARS" in the villages
and need to talk to them. I need to ask them what are their
future plans. I don't know when out Directors are going to keep a
Pull stop for Ettu patti Rasa Stories and how long they are going
to eat us with these kind of Bull shit. Also our Hero's must
really concentrate in acting and not in over projecting
themselves. Nothing is special in this movie. Songs, Music
everything is a big question mark.
I am not sure about the village crowd. I came to know that after
watching movies like "MAAYI", "NATTAMMAI"
people in village started to form "ETTU PATTI" and
"NATTAMAI" culture. For sure this movie is a movie that
needs to be screened in VANDALUR ZOO for KARADI's. The movie is
worth only 30/100.
