NBA FINALS 2000 :
SPORTS is one major entertainment for all of us regardless of
Age, Sex, Caste. Tell me one guy who is not interested in Sports.
Don't say 'KOLANGUDI KARUPAYEE' or 'THYIR VADAI DESIGAM'
or 'GALLA PETTI SINGARAM' ! In India Cricket, Hockey and
Foot Ball stands first. Of course Our National Sports like GILLI,
GOLI, BOMBARAM and KATHADI, KALAKAYE and PALANGUZHI are
Played for years.
In America we have Three major
sporting events. NBA, NFL and NHL out of which NBA stands first
and it's the game We Indians like. NBA so called as NATIONAL
BASKETBALL ASSOCIATION is one of the major Sporting event which
involves Millions of Dollars and is watched all over the world. I
started writing NBA reviews four years ago and I am quite
successful in it. I am a great Fan of NBA and I follow each and
every match although I run out of timebeing busy with my movie
update. 24 Hours a day is not enough!!! HA HA HA!
PHIL JACKSON:
When you speak about SPORTS all
that comes to your mind is "MICHEL JORDAN".
When I type his name My Blood Starts to boil and reaches my Brain
in Seconds. Yes he is the MAN and the SPORTSMAN of last century.
I still remember when i used to 
sit in Hollywood and Stare at the Screens
when LOS ANGELES and CHICAGO play each other in 'GREAT WESTERN
FORUM'. JORDAN used to say that he is not playing but his Mind is
playing. I think any one in this world will be successful when he
does some thing out of his mind. "PHIL JACKSON" is the
person who was responsible for JORDAN's mind set when he was the
HEAD Coach for "CHICAGO BULLS". He was the person who
was responsible for SIX NBA CHAMPIONSHIP for the CHICAGO BULLS
organization.<BR><BR>
1999 NBA an OVERVIEW:
JORDAN retired in 1998 and the CHICAGO BULLS broke into pieces.
Now that CHICAGO BULLS is no more the attention turned towards
teams like UTAH "JAZZ" and LOS ANGELES
"LAKERS". The 1999 NBA season was a short
season and LOS ANGELES "LAKERS" lost in the Western
Conference Finals against SAN ANTONIO "SUPURS" with TIM
DUNCAN taking the charge against SHAK, KOBE and GLEN RICE who was
traded from CHARLOTTE. The LAKERS were
not able to make the finals for various other reason although
they were really talented team. DENNIS RODMAN was a big factor
last year for the LOS ANGELES "LAKERS". Head
Coach DEL HARRIS was fired last year and KURT RAMBIS took the
charge ! No good as the LAKERS were not able to win the ball
game!<BR><BR>
PHIL JACKSON & LOS ANGELES " LAKERS":
The LAKERS Organization cannot take any more losses. They need a
LEADER for their talents. Yes it was PHIL JACKSON who was hired
as the LAKERS head coach. Remember the last time the LOS ANGELES
LAKERS won a championship was when PAT RAILEY was coaching the
LAKERS in early 1990's and when MAGIC JOHNSON was
playing. PHIL JACKSON brought lots and lots of energy to the
LAKERS team and the LAKERS finished the Regular season as the
best team with the best record in the NBA
LEAGUE.<BR><BR>
NBA FINALS 2000 (WESTERN CONFERENCE) :
It was WEST WEST WEST this season as the two prime teams in the
west met in the finals. It was PORTLANT "BALZERS" and
"LOS ANGELES "LAKERS". It was a best of Seven
games finals and the LAKERS had a early lead of 3-1 in the
finals. BLAZERS came back and won back to back game one in
STAPLES CENRE in LOS ANGELS Downtown and another one in the
Beauty city PORTLAND. The deciding match was in LA as dare Devil
LA fans like JACK
NICHLSON, PETE SAMPRAS, DENZAL WASHINGTON were present for the
game. MAJIC JOHNSON the Vice President of LA LAKERS organization
was there. Everyone were tensed up as its going to the
match of the season.
Yes it was the finals in LOS ANGELES in the STAPLES
CENTRE in LA Downtown where the PORTLAND "TRAIL
BLAZERS" led by Veteran SCOTTIE PIPPEN played LA!
It was PORTLAND all the game and after the finish of third
quarter it was PORTLAND by 15 points and everyone thought that
its going to be PORTLAND and the season is going to get over for
LOS ANGELES. Here is where you need Leadership. PHIL JACKSON
called a time out and boosted the guys and asked them to play out
of their mind although the LAKERS team played up to the mark. At
last the LAKERS won the ball game as PORTLAND a talented team was
not able to continue and win. In the East it was INDIANA
"PACERS" and the NEW YORK "KNICKS" and REJI
MILLER came big for the "PACERS and the PACERS won the
series 4-2. Remember its the last year of the PACERS head coach
"LARRY BIRD".
Is that going to happen is the next question. Now that the teams
for the Finals is known its not only the match up with the teams
but the match up is between two Basket Ball Legends "PHIL
JACKSON" and "LARRY BIRD". Who is going to win. To
me its LA "LAKERS". As a Resident of LOS ANGELES I
would love LA to win the NBA Championship. Lets wait and see !!!

EASTERN CONFERENCE :
NEW YORK "KNICKS" Vs MIAMI "HEAT" and INIDANA
"PACERS Vs PHILADELPHIA "76ERS"
WESTERN CONFERENCE :
LOS ANGELS "LAKERS" Vs PHOENIX "SUNS" and
PORTLAND "BLAZERS" Vs UTAH "JAZZ"
Now that the First round matches are over in NBA PLAYOFF's 2000.
Two scary things happened. The League Leader LOS ANGELS LAKERS
were dragged to Fifth and deciding match in STAPLES CENTRE in LOS
ANGELS downtown. Dare devil SACREMENTO "KINGS" fan were
sitting in ARCO ARENA in SACREMENTO to watch their Players play
in LA !! PHIL JACKSON who is waiting for his SEVENTH CHAMPIONSHIP
with LAKERS took SACREMENTO KINGS. Fortunately it was LAKERS that
day who took the match.
The Second one was with REJI
MILLER and the "INDIANA PACERS". They almost lost the
match against the MILWAKEE "BUCKS". BUCKS were too good
for the PACERS and LARRY BIRD who said that its his Last season
as a Head coach for the INDIANA "PACERS" was dragged to
death and fortunately the "PACERS" won the ball game
with One point victor over the "BUCKS" !

Sports! We all love sports. It may be CRICKET, FOOT BALL,
HOCKEY or KABADI, GOLI or GILLI each has its own taste
and flavor. NBA (NATIONAL BASKET BALL ASSOCIATION) is one
of a BIG SPORTS event in the world. INDIANS in USA are

MIAMI "HEAT" VS DETROIT "PISTONS"
PLAYOFFS 2000 started on APRIL 22 in MIAMI, FLORIDA the beauty
land of USA and the tip off was in "AMERICAN AIRLINES
ARENA" in MIAMI DOWNTOWN and it was between MIAMI
"HEAT" and DETROIT" PISTONS". It was not a
cool start in MIAMI because of "ELIAN GANSALUZ" issue
in MIAMI. The stadium was not full because of the Riots that took
place in MIAMI that morning. PAT RAILEY the head coach of MIAMI
was ready for a hot PLAYOFF Match. Its GRANT HILL and the DETROIT
PISTONS against ALANZO and MIAMI HEAT. MIAMI playing without its
superstar TIM HARDAWAY and it was a great chance for the PISTONS
to get an early lead. But MIAMI and RAILEY were able to manage
the show with out TIM HARDAWAY. Result MIAMI take a lead over the
PISTONS.
UTAH "JAZZ" Vs
SEATTLE "SONICS"
UTAH JAZZ a team with legends and veterans who knows how to teach
basket ball to the young kids. KALR MALONE and the UTAH JAZZ took
GARY PAYTON and the SEATTLE SUPER SONICS on Saturday in SALT LAKE
CITY, UTAH. JERRY SALONE the JAZZ HEAD COACH who wants UTAH to
win a championship this year. PAUL WESPAUL from SEATTLE was
tensed up as they are going to face a hot Team like UTAH.
Did "KARL MALONE" delivered the MAIL Properly
!!!"YES HE DID" as MALONE scored 50 Points and the JAZZ
won comfortable over SONICS.
NEW YORK "KINCKS" VS TORONTO "RAPTORS"
KNICKS to me is the best team in the EAST. They have star players
like SPREWELL, EWING and HOUSTON and good bench players like
MARCUS CAMBY. The tip off of this match was in the Worlds best
arena "MADISON SQUARE GARDEN". But Who can Stop
TORONTO's VINCE CARTER. An emerging super star in Basket ball and
who is already in hearty of Millions of Basket ball fans around
the world.
VINCE CARTER was not hot enough yesterday. The
KINCKS were leading the RAPTORS right from the start of the
match. TORONTO's come back in third quarter was not good as
KNICKS leads the RAPTORS by 1-0.
SAN ANTONIO "SPURS" and PHOENIX "SUNS"
SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS a land of beauty. The river walk in SAN
ANTONIO is one of my favorite place in this world. ALAMADOME the
worlds largest Arena is in SAN ANTONIO, TX and the tip of was
there between DAVID ROBINSON and the SPURS and HARDAWAY
and SUNS.
DUNCAN was in injured list for SPURS and JAYSON KIDD and
TOM GUGLIYADA was in Injured list for the SUNS. It was a low
scoring match and SUNS won by 2 Points (72-70)!! I think TIM
DUNCAN has to come for the second match.
"PORTLAND" BLAZERS Vs MINNASOTA
"TWOLVES"
It was in PORTLAND on Sunday 23rd 2000 the tip off between these
two teams took place. PORTLAND is another place of beauty with
its beautiful Mountain view and lakes. TWOLVES probably having
its best season with 50 wins. BLAZERS were too hot for the
TWOLVES as PIPPEN scored his season high of 27 points. BLAZERS
lead the series by 1-0.
LOS ANGELES "LAKERS" VS SACREMENTO "KINGS"
Probably the most interesting match up in this years playoffs is
the Match between the LAKERS and the KINGS. As Predicted LAKERS
were really hot with SHAK, KOBE and RICE with PHIL JACKSON. The
tip off took place in LOS ANGELES in STAPLE CENTRE.
KINGS to be is a interesting team to watch. With CHRIS WEBBER and
JAYSON WILIAMS you will have real fun to watch these guys. Of
course VALDE DIVAC. KINGS who started big with SIX Field goals
where not able to continue as LAKESRS came big with SHAK scoring
46 Points as he tied his PLAYOFF high score again. LA leads
SACREMENTO (1-0).
INDIANA "PACERS" Vs MILWAKEE "BUCKS"
Red hot REJI MILLER is their for the PACERS and it was a close
match between BUCKS and the PACERS and the PACERS won by 3
Points.
PHILI "76ERS" VS CHAROLLETE "HORNETS"
76ERS Point guard "ALLEN IVERSON" scored 36
Points and they have a 1-0 lead over CHAROLLETE.

INSIDE THE NBA (NBA 2000 POST SEASON ANALYSIS)
This season NBA (1999 -2000) has a
decent start in ALAMADOME, San Antonio with the twin towers
(DAVID ROBINSON and TIM DUNCUN) taking the ball ! The BULLS are
washed out and there is no question of CHICAGO BULLS coming back
to form. So its all MIAMI "HEAT" from the EAST and
PORTLAND "BLAZERS" from the WEST !! Let me analyze the
teams that are playing this season.
UTAH JAZZ : 
(WEST) MALMAN - ANSWER TO ME ! SALT LAKE CITY, the city that
rolls with Basket Ball. In the History of BASKET BALL and NBA
SALT LAKE CITY has been the place for 13 YEARS !! MALMAN
"KARL MALONE" , STOCKTON and JEFF HORNOCEK No questions
asked for these guys ! With JERRY SALONE these guys just roll
over. But what happened ! MALMAN are u getting old ! JACK RUSSEL
what happened !
LA LAKERS (WEST) :
(PHIL JACKSON) - WHERE IS JORDAN
and RODMAN ! Every year the team that take lot of Pride
is LOS ANGELES ! I don't know why ! I am a great Fan of LOS
ANGELES LAKERS !! If i was in LA I would have got Season tickets
for the matches ! PHIL JACKSON was hired as the Team manager for
LA !! In what way its going to improve this team. No doubt with
SHAK, KOBE and GLENN RICE under PHIL JACKSON they are very
strong. But i guess some thing is missing !! they are into their
new Forum ! They are not going to play in INGLEWOOD anymore !!
Lets See and i love to watch LAKERS play !
MIAMI "HEAT" : (PAT RAILEY) - I LOVE UR SMARTNESS I
love to watch PAT RAILEY standing in the court with his
suit., Man he is such a talented person ! They are not only the
HEAT but they are firing this season with only ONE LOSS !
MOURNING and MASHBROWN are in full form ! I guess they are this
time favorites from EAST COAST!
SACREMENTO "KINGS" : (JAYSON & CHRIS WEBBER ) - THE
NEW KIDS The former KANSAS CITY "KINGS" now
called as SACREMENTO "KINGS" !! Not that KANSAS CITY
people hate BASKET BALL ! There was a trade off that was done
SEVEN YEARS ago and this KINGS team with ( JAYSON WILLAMS and
CHRIS WEBBER) are very scary for big teams like LAKERS, They move
the ball very well and CHRIS WEBBER stands No. 1 in rebounds !!
SAN ANTONIO
"SPURS"
- Hi twin towers I LOVE U SO MUCH !
The team that plays with full confidence is "SAN
ANTONIO" SPURS ! I like the way they go with the team. TIM
DUNCUN and DAVID ROBINSON playing the forward position and they
get everything from their bench players ! ( IVERY JOHNSON, ELIE)
and the CROWD of SAN ANTONIO with all matches packed full with
the TEXAS - BASKET BALL FANS !! Go SPURS ! No wonder they can
even wind a BACK TO BACK championship !!! GO SPURS !!!
HOUSTON ROCKETS - ( IS
BARKLEY GOING TO RETAIR !!!) 
The team that had a bad
start this season (0-5) is the HOUSTON ROCKETS ! No way a team
can play that bad with BARKLEY, OLAIJAWON still hanging around
with them. Is this HOUSTON ROCKETS going to be another CHICAGO
BULLS !! No wonder. They are not my favorites any more !!!! SORRY
SORRY SORRY SORRY !!!!
NEW YORK "KNICKS" - 
PATRIC EWING Is he going to rest for ever NEW YORK
what a place to play Basket Ball !! MADISON SQUARE GARDEN is a
wonderful place to play a match !! VAN GUNDY who has given a new
boos to the team !! But what happened to PATRIC he is always
resting there !! LATERALL SPREWELL and ALLAN HOUSTON on fire Ok
Lets wait and see who is going to win !! Hope this YEAR 2000 will
be lots of fun with lots of matchgoing on !!!
