Prabu,

What you said was exactly right. I went to JFK on Sunday evening. By mistakeI took a deviation at I-80 towards Lincoln Tunnel. I
planned my trip trhu G.Washington Bridge. But that mistake gave me the experience of driving right through the citysmost exciting place Manhattan and then Queens.

Driving through Lincoln Tunnel was a great experience. It was likewatching a Bruce Willis Action Movie. Once at Manhattan, it was like Ranganathan street exceptthat people here wore a different attire. I asked a NYC Cop directions to Manhattan, and he told: "If you can take a turn here, go down to 34th street and make a right and proceed to Midtown tunnel. " The cop was not sure how the pedestrian traffic would be. Fortunately I make a right went down on 34st stree

I caught Midtown tunnel and then I was onto Queens. Again I made my way to I-678 by aksing directions at toll booth. And then whole damn 678 was moving at 5mph. There were 2 cop cars and 1 cop motorcyle who were finding very difficult to wade across that mess. Their sirens and lights were ofno use. Finally I reached JFK. Return trip was cool as I drove thru freeways and reached my place Morris Plains at NJ. Those who plan for NYC allow atleast 2 to 3 hrs for traffic congestion and plan yourtrips accordingly.

regards,balaji.
