PEEPLI
LIVE NEW HINDI TAMIL MOVIE REVIEW:
PEEPLI LIVE is a story about a poor villager who lives in a very remote village in Mathya Pradesh. The movie gets a big banner as it is produced by Legend Aamir Khan. This movie does not have all the Masalas that we expect from a Bollywood movie like running in Snow filled mountains or High flying chase in a foreign downtown or eye catchy traditional dress or 5 to 6 songs and a movie that lasts for 3 ½ to 4 hours. This is a very simple story in a dry and remote village something that is unique that we are not used to see in a Hindi movie.
STORY:
The story is about a poor farmer
called Natha. Its mind blowing and probably that you dont
see in any of the recent Hindi movies. A poor man in a remote
village is trying to save his farm land. He finds it very
difficult and him and his brother decides to commit suicide so
that the
government
will come forward to give a monetary help of One Lack rupee which
they will use to save their family farm land. In the process of
deciding who is going to sacrifice their life to save the land
between both the brothers a local reporter hears this news. He
then goes around and publicize the news to a local news paper.
Then the news gets national attention from all the news channels
around as the chief minister of the state runs an election from
that constituency. The whole show down is to see if the chief
minister who is running for power is going to stop the suicide
attempt of the villager or not. The real fun starts from here as
a poor farmer who was not known to any one nor has any value to
anyone gets national attention from the news media.
Its very tricky how Politics is played in India on poor souls like Natha. The story has a lot of meaning that it will be a big success for this low budget movie. Everyone from Chief Minister, Commissioner, Media and the local Village dada gets involved in Nathas decision to kill himself. The media goes one step futures to get an opinion pool on will Natha commits a suicide or not. So a poor man who cannot support his family not afford to eat gets media attention not because he is an important person or he means anything to any of the above people. Its the competition of power, competition of the media trying to give hot news and who is the winner in it. The story is a really touch story that explains the pain the poor farmers undergo on a daily basis. Of later there are lots of incidents that happen in India. At the end there was statistics that were showing that 8 Million farmers left farming and started working in big cities.
If you dig deep into this one line story line lots of things come into picture. Honestly there are 24 hour news media channels which have hardly any news to relay. There is a stiff completion between them to give the hot news so that they can survive in the media industry. If there is no news they will create their own news for publicity. Nathas story in Peepli Live is no exception. No one really cares about the poor in India. Its the politics thats being played against them to earn their votes in the election. Had there was no election in that place probably this story would have not existed or known to the world.
CAST:
There is not even one single known person in the movie other than Nasurudin Shaw who comes as a politician. All the actors in the movie or either new to the movie industry or first time actors. An old woman in the movie is another highlight who is Nathas mother. She lies down and says some funny dialogs that the whole movie theater laughs to glory. Sources say that the movie casts are from the actual and poor remote village in Mathya Pradesh.
AAMIR KHAN:
There is nothing more for him to prove for him. If you see LAAGAN the movie set up is very similar. This movie has an even poorer look than LAAGAN. Definitely this movie is going to grab all the awards possible next year. No doubt about that. A bold attempt to show the world how things operate in Indian Villages. It was difficult to digest what those poor villagers go through to earn 50 Cents a day.
LOLLU COMMENTS:
This movie is a must watch. I was forced by my friends to watch this movie and I really dont regret watching the movie. The movie slang is real different as its not our regular Hindi. The actors in the movie have done a fantastic job. One should not expect an eye catchy Hindi movie like other movies. But its a well framed movie. Its a known fact that what ever improvements that we see in India is for the 1 or 2 % of the population. Still 70% of the people live below the poverty line. All these high flying coffee shops, Software jobs, High pay, Cost of living, Education, jumping 4 jobs in 2 years, Cars, life style, eating out, cinema in a multiplex movie theater is only for 1 % of the whole population in India. The reality is still that 99% of the population still suffers because of the inflation caused by 1% of the population. There is two ways you can see this. One just takes it easy and dont care of what happens around you. The other one is just keep quiet. Everyday there are so many fed up farmers who leave villages to go to city for a better life. Politicians and corruption are still eating everyone back home. Nathas story got attention because of the elections and there is a fact that after the rule that every farmers family will get one lack rupee if he or she dies there are more deaths in the farming community.
This is a must watch movie for
everyone not just to go have some fun and eat pop corn. Its
a movie to think about. I am not sure what we can offer to those
poor people other than feeling pity for what they have in life.
Not sure how you can give a helping hand for such poor people.
This is not a movie to go and have some fun and come back. This
movie will really make you think of all those unfortunate people
around the world and make you feel happy how fortune we are in
this world to have the kind of life we have.
If you like Laagan you will for sure like this movie. Is it worth
going and watching in theatre spending 9$ for ticket and 7$ for
popcorn. I would say yes if you want to watch it right away. Keep
in mind that this is not a theatre movie. You can watch it in a
good DVD print if you are not willing to spend going to theatre.
A must watch movie gets 80/100 from lolluexpress.
