OVERVIEW:
I think i watched this movie in "DEVI theatre" in Madras with my friends after seeing "YAYE RE YAYE RE" song. The theatre was full of action and each and every single person in the theatre really enjoyed the movie. Only after this movie the "HINDI MOVIE
CULTURE"
started in Madras. Before this movie people who know HINDI or
People who are from North used to watch Hindi movies going to
theatre. But after RANGEELA all these Rickshaw Guys, Auto
Guys, PERAMBUR LE "PAL ATHRAVAN" and even the guys who
used to sell SUNDAL in Marina Beach started watching HINDI
Movies. If you dont know "RANGEELA
URMILA" there is no point being in MADRAS and people will
stare at you from top to bottom.STORY:
The story starts with a dream song by a sweet girl whose dream and aim is to become a super heroine one day and who is doing Extra characters in Mumbai movie industry. URMILA comes with a Rose short gown and A.R. REHMAN starts his action with his Life time hit song "YAYE RE YAYE RE Song" and URMILA dancing with few extras. That's it the theatre was full of Sound and Papers flying here and there and Madras Whistle... I think this one song is enough for the money you paid for the ticket. AMIR KHAN gets introduced as a Person who sells movie tickets and who is friend of URMILA. The movie runs for another half hour projecting the dream of a sad girl and the relation between "AMIR & URMILA". A touch of class by "RAM GOPAL VERMA" who Projects the relation in a friendly way but both falling in Love with each other. JACKIE gets introduced as a "Super Hero" in the movie industry and who acts as a hero in a movie in which URMILA
is acting as an extra artist.JACKIE happens to meet URMILA when she was practicing her dance in a sea shore and he recommends her to be the heroine of the movie. URMILA runs to AMIR to say that she got a chance to act as an heroine .. and AMIR who shows his disinterest as he starts to feel that she is going away from her. The Scenes were made in a real way that anyone who watch the movie will just get involved in it. Slowly JACKIE starts to move closely with URMILA and AMIR feeling odd about it. And a life time "MAST" song for our Jollus and Lollus comes as a dream song as URMILA runs in her famous beach wear with Jackie driving a sports bike in my life time favorite song with Asha's sweet voice "THAN HA THAN HA YAHAN KO BE HE KOYE BATH HAIN....." What else can you expect in a movie with AR REHMAN, ASHA and a Dance by URMILA in a Sea Shore.
URMILA becomes a big artist with JACKIE supporting her in each and every way. But URMILA still had that Soft corner on AMIR her old friend and She even does'nt know that she is in Love with him. AMIR feeling odd for what ever URMILA says as he thinks that he was more happy with her when she was a small artist and he thinks that JACKIE is taking over....
At last the movie gets over and Urmila gets a letter from Amir saying that he is leaving the city when Jackie was about to Propose Urmila. Then the same usual search and Urmila and Amir pairs giving a big Thirunelveli halwa to Jackie.

compete with them. I think RAM GOPAL VERMA and URMILA combination
worked out pretty good and they gave lots and lots of hits like RANGEELA,
MAST, DAUD and lot other Telugu movies. After this movie
if you walk in Madras without knowing "RANGEELA URMILA"
people will stare at you and you will be listed as "
VICE PRESIDENT OF ALL INDIA FROOT ASSN" and you will be
stamped as NCFFM PRESIDENT. For those who doesnt know
what is NCFFM Its a Kind of Fruit Category and it is
called as "NO CHANCE FOR FIGURE MADUCIFY" that
is those guys who come under NCFFM has no change of getting hold
of a female in their life.

industry. In this movie he comes as a sad lover of URMILA and has
done a great job. JACKIE who started with his hit movie HERO in
1984 is another good hero compared to any other Heros in Mumbai.
But i still hate that flute song in HERO in which Jackie will be
holding a Flute and singing a sad song. He exactly looked like a
snake catcher in that movie."MYLAPORE LE MAGUDI
ODARAVAN MADIRI IRUNDAN". He looked like a person
who plays MAGUDI to catch snake in Mylapore. But he really
improved a lot after his first movie and he is one of the ARNOLD
of MUMBAI.
