VETTAI - NEW TAMIL MOVIE REVIEW BY YOUR PRABHU

"Kutti Vijayakanth" Madavan, Arya, Amala Paul, Sameera Reddy in a New Tamil movie "VETTAI". The movie directed by Lingusamy and Music by Yuvan Shankar Raja.Enjoy my review on "VETTAI".

MOVIE HIGHLIGHTS:

1) Madavan has become the new "Kutti Vijayakanth" with Big Tummy and a Bonda Face.
2) Amala Paul and Sameera Reddy looks like "Paint Adicha Pambu" (Painted Snake).
3) ARYA looks great but he has to work on his Frog Tone Voice.
4) YUVAN SHANAKAR RAJA once again proves he is the best music director in the industry today.

STORY:

It’s unusual for 2 heroes act in the same Tamil movie. Most of Tamil movies are about a Single hero. Its ok to have 2 or more heroines for our hero but its odd to have 2 hero’s in the same movie. Hindi movies are little different. They have 3 to 4 hero’s and 5 heroines and make a 4 and half hour movie so that all the hero’s gets couple of duets with the heroines. VETTAI is a different movie with ARYA and MADAVAN playing hero roles.

VETTAI is like watching a 1995 TELUGU movie. The story revolves around a Village where two dada’s rule the Village. They pretty much control everything in that village (Shopping complex, Adiyals, Police Station, Court etc etc). Madavan and Arya live in the same village as well. Their dad who is a police dies and his job is given to Madavan by the government. Madvan who is a scared kid accepts the job and gets an assignment to go against the Dada's of the village. Madvan seeks help from his brother Arya who is a bold guy. He Completes all his assignment and Madavan gets Name and fame for the work completed. The movie goes like this for a while. Couple of Heroines Amala Paul and Sameera Reddy gets plugged in the movie. They are Sisters as well. Our hero’s meet heroine and sings couple of duets as well.

Then the typical 1995 TELUGU movie story that we are all used to. Villan's gets pissed off with ARYA's Resistance and trying to finish him. Then the villains looks for a week link who are the heroines and their family. Fight sequence comes every 15 minutes and a song sequence comes every 10 minutes. So a masala packed Movie runs for another one and half hours and then comes the climax where the villains finds our that Madavan is just a joker and the real game is played by ARYA who is his brother. Then you know the story. Both the brothers go against the villain. A train fights, Hero beating 100's of villains, Ambulance, Doctor etc etc and the movie ends as our Hero's come out as winners against the villains and each of our hero’s marries the heroines (Amala Paul and Sameera Reddy) respectively.

MADAVAN and ARYA:

Madavan is the new Vijayakanth of Tamil Cinema. He looks like how Vijayakanth was in 1995. Madavan so called as a bubbly Heros during his Alaipayudhey times is now our "Chinna Gounder" Vijayakanth. He has gained so much weight and has a big tummy and he dances with that tummy and makes us wonder that we are watching a Vijaykanth movie. He definitely needs to go to Gym for 5 Hours a day or he has to be on GM diet for 3 months to get back to shape. On the other hand ARYA looks great. He is trim and dances really well in the movie and fights as well. The only issue with ARYA is his Frog Voice. I don’t think he can handle strong and challenging dialogs with that Frog Tone. Where there is a strong dialog in frog tone it looks funny.

AMALA PAUL & SAMEERA REDDY:

Both the heroines have no say in this movie. SAMEERA REDDY in DAVANI :))) It looks funny after seeing in hundreds of item songs. There is no "ASSET" Showing songs in this movie for her. Looks like "PAINT ADICHA PAMBU" in most of the scenes in this movie especially when she comes in DAVANI. AMALA PAUL Looks Cute. They come and dances together for couple of songs and drives a Rajdoot motor cycle. Other than that there is nothing to say about them in this movie.

LOLLU COMMENTS:

The movie is a good time pass. If you like Telugu movies of villain chasing hero’s, Couple of songs, Fights etc this movie will satisfy your taste. For ARYA it’s a good come back and he is becoming one of the lead hero’s in the industry. One Exception is the frog tone he has in delivering the dialogs. LINGUSAMY does not Disappoint us in any movie he takes. He is one of the front runners in directing movies these days. Yuvan Shankar Raja is always good. Couple of songs of his music was really nice. A Masala packed movie for a normal cine lovers. This movie gets 50/100 for a typical entertainment that we are looking for.
