super review....The height of irritation was no.1 that asshole Ranjit that stupid should be kicked out of kodambakkam, his acting
was stupid in kannan varuvan and totally irritating in this movie especially when he makes faces to OUR great Mallu kutty saying "violance than pidikkumnna atchapanaye illai...." that was stupid no.2 was in the name of comedy they brought one stupid police who commints spelling mistakes. Vivek whos flying high these days would have been a better choice. I can say the film budget padmanaban is solely dependent on Vivek! even manivannan is not good these days. No.3 was parthi again narrating the whole story to this idiot when he is in jail.....BUT our mallu kutty is really xcellent shes cute, she resembles our old kutti sri devi. Who ever has given a play back voice to our mallu kutty avar neeroodi valga especially when she says mamu mamu....really sexy....hats off to that female and mamu machi was a real sense of humour...regardsA

Prabhu,

You have not mentioned about one very irritating dialogue in this movie that Divya Unni repeatedly says "Paathutiye Maamu......" many many times. This was too much and everybody in the theater here in California was laughing !!! In fact most of the climax scenes that were meant to be serious were like comedy scenes and all of us could not control laughing. Also, Deva's music is just too pathetic !

Prabhu,

I beg to disagree with you that this movie is 45/100. Perhaps it deserves more. And "Thalivasal" Vijay is definitely not the inspector.
He is another guy who comes in "Kadal Kottai " as auto driver and sings the song "Kavali padathey sahodara". He used to act in a serial called "Neela Mala" some 10 yrs back. dont know his name. May be I am wrong bcoz I was at seat no 29 in KPN Travels(penultimate line).

And, there are few things which you forgot to mention:

a) Parthiban really did a good job. He did not shed "glycerine" tears when his wife dies. He was quite and calm. At least this
is the first tamil movie when a hero does not cry on his beloved'sdeath.

b) The message is simple: "Aduthavan pondatiku asai padathey." The hero takes revenge not because his wife dies but because there should not be any such cases thereafter. (revaled during conversationat jail)

c) The hero sacrifices his sight which was potrayed in an elagant manner. Usually there will be a 5 minute non-stop speech followed heated/ cyring arguments with 3 other people who are close to him. No crap of that sort. He save's a kids life and does not overact. Although this could reveal his identity. It highlights "any action is not right if itz at expense of an innocent life".

d) The hero fully understands the loopholes in law and knows he cannot punish Ranjit by appealling to court of law. So carves an intelligent plan to trap him. (revealed in jail conversation).

e) The jail scene is very important. Ranjit is behind bars punished for his maligned thought and so is Parthiban; living in a dark world. He lost his sight purposefully. Some kind of a remorse for trapping his friend? Figuratively it embodies that both can never go back to their old worlds again. (May be the director has never thought in these lines :) ).

f) Although certain scenes were really irritating; the movie was not much of a drag. Perhpas movies like "Vanavil" is to be termed draggy.
