Collection "SINDHU BHAIRAVI".STORY:
In Tamil movie industry any movie not that is not related to Love subject needs lots and lots of talent to make the movie. Especially the movies related to Art subject like Music, Dance needs real real Talent. The only reason is the number of audience who really know music or dance are really less in number when compared to the audience who love to watch a Masala Movie and kill their time. But only few directors can make a movie like "SINDU BHARAVI" which is a Hardcore MUSIC Subject but still make the other "MASALA Crowd" to watch. I am talking about our "Directing Legend" K.BALACHANDER. Hats off to his "Sindhu Bhairavi".
SHIVA KUMAR so called as J.K. Balaganapathy (JKB) is a big Carnatic Music singer and who considers Music to be everything in his life. His wife Sulakshana is a typical House wife. All that she knows his her Husband. She thinks about him 24 hours a day and her world is her house, her husband Shiva Kumar. Her Hobby is fighting with that Vegetable seller who comes to her house to sell Brinjal, Potato and gain 50 Paise from him. Not that she is Poor, Just to show that she is a typical "MADRAS HOUSE WIFE". She is very possessive about her husband Shiva Kumar. The scene were made in a "TOUCH OF CLASS" that I started remembering my days ! "I used to Bargain with Vegetable Sellers in Ayanavaram Market in Madras fo r buying that "GORKALI KAYE".
SHIVA KUMAR who looks for a good company to talk about Music as he thinks that his wife "Sulakshana" is only good for
making "IDLY,
DOSAI and CHUTNEE" finds "Suhasini". They
both starts their relation with a Clash on stage but slowly they
both develops their relation. In the beginning its a sort of
friendship and as Both minds have the same thinking they start to
Love each other. SHIVA KUMAR starts to spend more time with
SUHASINI and starts to come home only in the night. His Homely
wife who thinks that he is world cannot take it and slowly knows
that his Husband is moving with one of his fan
"SUHASINI" and the movie takes a big turn and the clash
starts.SIVA KUMAR is put into a situation where he has to lie to his wife to meet his Fan/Lover Suhasini. The guy who is not able to give a child to his Official wife gives it to Suhasini and also presents a Finger Ring to her. After Restrictions from his wife and friends he stops meeting "SUHASINI" and could not take that separation and starts to drink. The scene were really touching and each and every artist did a good job. There is one more story a Flash back of "SUHASINI's " birth. The movie runs with lots and lots of complexion with wonderful songs with K.B's touch and at last "SULAKSHANA" comes to a point where he feels that "SUHASINI" must become a family member to save her husband "SHIVA KUMAR" and the movie ends as SHIVA marries SUHA as his second wife.
SHIVA KUMAR:
Shiva Kumar came with his Life time best Performance in this movie. He is a very good actor and I always felt that he was not given enough opportunity in the Industry. His majestic and Smart outlook made this movie a better one. I think no one other than him would have did a good job. Especially before the first song "He shows how much he respect this Art" by kicking "Delhi Ganesh" out of stage just because he came to stage after drinking.
Also the scene where SHIVA KUMAR and SUHASINI meet for the first time and when SUHA explains that he is a good Singer but he needs to understand that he needs to satisfy the 'Masala Crowd' too. The way SHIVA expressing his views and at the same time accepting SUHASINI's comments were really superb. Also the last song "KALAI VANIYE ......" sitting before a Sea shore and singing with anger. One of Shiva Kumar's Master Piece.
SUHASINI:
Yet another excellent Artist who just stand apart from the bunch of Cranky heroine list in Kodambakkam. One cant say anything
about SUHASINI as
she is one of the most respectable and Talented artist who can do
great character roles like the one in "Sindu Bhairavi".
In this movie she comes as a Music Teacher so called as Sindhu
and who is a big fan of a great singer who wants him but at the
same time who is concerned about his family too. Man how many
complication in relations ! She is Excellent. So Expressive and
she has a Cute looks which acts along with her. I don't know how
to say. After watching these glamorous doll's in movies for a
long time I am not able to explain how cute Suhasini was in that
movie. One can't forget her "ARKANI" role in GOBURANGAL
SAIVADILAI ( I think I am right) and A mother of a Poor Kid in "EN
BOMMU KUTTY AMMAVUKU". Of course her Best performance was in
this movie "Sindhu Bhairavi". "AAA CLASS"

If i give 50 Marks for K.BALACHANDER, I give another 50 MARKS for K.J. YESUDAS and CHITRA. I think they are the pillars for the movie. Any Musical Subject must come with Good Music and good Songs as the subject of the movie is related to MUSIC not like "MURALI Movies where he will be a singer for the heck of being a singer and he will be singing songs with Mike". The Specialty of this movie is all songs are enjoyable by all kinds of crowd although the songs are Carnatic songs. Example the first song by K.J. YESUDAS . "Kalaivaniye ......" and the second song by CHITRA
