STORY:
SONALTHAN KADHALA is a typical T. Rajender movie. I really don't care if his movies are good or bad. One can laugh for 2 1/2 hours
while watching the movie and 40
hours after watching the movie. The story is a typical
T.R Story which starts with lots of sound and hard Dialogs. The
main story revolves around ROJA who works for a Finance company.
She is the head of the family and is unmarried. She has two
younger sisters, One Small Brother ( KURALARASAN), One
good for nothing Dad (Mannivannan), and a Elder Sister (Kovai
Sarala) and her husband Vadivelu. The whole family depends on
ROJA's salary for food and living. Neither Manivanna or Vadivelu
do any good for the family. Now the introduction of our "ALL WORLD KATTU KARADI SANGA THALIVAR" T. Rajender. He is a writer and he gets into fight with the local Police "Karan" who is his Sister's husband. Sharp dialogs in T.R Style like
Karan Says : "NAAN POLICE KARAN"
T.R Says: "NAAN PATHIRIKAI KARAN"
Karan Says: "EN KITTE LATTY IRRUKU"
T.R Says: " EN KYLE PENNA IRRUKU" etc etc.
The highlight of these dialogs is the way T.R says these dialogs with his "KARADI DADI". He opens his mouth like a SEA WORLD "SEAL" even before he starts saying his dialog. Then T.R Son SILAMBARASAN gets introduced for a song "Sonalthan Kadala Solenda Vadivela". A typical "Tapan Kotthu" song in which SILAMBARASAN has done a great job.
In any T.R movie there will be a Sister story. This movie is no exception. SWATHI is his sister and Karan is her husband. Karan gets pissed off because T.R questions him and beats Swathi and asks her to get 50,000 RS! Ha Ha Ha !!! Swathi runs to T.R and says that Karan is beating her daily. One must see T.R after that. That KARADI face becomes more Cruel and at the same time he maintains that Sadness and starts his Dialogs .... If you have difficulty in reading the above dialog, Please read it slowly.

ADHU POLA SOLADA KADAL MANA MEDAI SUDARADHU ILLAI ..... and Cries...
To add more confusion there is another story. Kushboo gets introduced as a female who lives in a house which is just opposite to Roja's house. She has a sad story. It seems that her Fiancée died in a Car accident and she is living in this world without marriying anyone thinking about that car accident !!! Magane Dai !!! Intha Madiri ethana Per Da Kilambi Irukingo ..... How can a female think about her Fiancée for 50 years without marrying anyone. Don't ask who is that guy. He is "PRAKASH RAJ". No one can think about him for more than 5 seconds !!!
The story runs like this. ROJA supports her family and in her office "ALL INDIA MIKE ASSOCIATION PRESIDENT" MIKE MURALI
proposes
ROJA every hour saying "I LOVE YOU" to
her. That is every day in the morning he goes to ROJA's desk and
Say "I LOVE YOU" with a Sad face. The same old
"IDHAYAM MURALI FACE". Then at 11 O'Clock he
does the same. The "I LOVE U" continues once Before
Lunch, Once After Lunch, Before Leaving to home. The Scenes were
really Irritating. MURALI will go to ROJA's desk and ROJA will
ask "What do you want?" and MURALI will say "I
Love You with a Sad face"...... HA HA HA HA !!! So
all together he proposes ROJA at least 10 times in a day with
"IDHAYAM" Face and ROJA constantly rejects his offer.
MUMTAZ who is a co-worker has a One side Love on Murali. A dream
song in MUMTAZ style gets over.Meanwhile T.R Sister "SWATHI's" Wedding day comes. He buys a Saree for her and goes to KARAN's place and gives it to her. KARAN kicks that Plate and the Saree flies in the air and falls on T.R's Face. T.R Looks at KARAN in a side angle with Anger. He was Exactly looking like "KARADI". There is no doubt about it. If you go to VANDALUR ZOO you can see Lots of "KARADI's in this pose. I was laughing like anything that I throwed my remote. My eyes were filled with Tears and i was not able to see the movie anymore. Half an hour later I switched on my VCR. Then he says dialogs how much Love he has on his sister. It seems that he used to Bath her when she was young and he even sacrificed his Love for her marriage etc etc and he leaves that place. KARAN gets pissed off and beats Swathi and she dies as he slaps her and pushes her on a sofa.
