STORY:
After super duper hit movie "Ramana" VijayaGanth is back again with his well known Village / Family subject in "Sokathangam". After a very long break "Theeee director of Kodambakkam" Bagyaraj is back with his story / Screenplay and
Direction. SOKATHANGAM didn't disappoint
our audience, which has a "Big" Star cast. The movie
has well defined characters And good dialogs and Touch of class
Screenplay and direction by K. Bagyaraj although it's the same
old and well known Village family drama. Vijayaganth is not a "PANAYAR" in this movie. He is obviously a good person and a kind hearted village man who Do lots and lots of good to the public and the village people. He runs his own oil business and he has one sister. Hope you All know the story from this point. Yes its "SISTER SENTIMENT" packed Village story. His aim in his life is to get her married To a good Guy who has clean habits. So he and Gounder roams around in the village in search of good guy and later finds PRAKASH RAJ. In the mean time "SOUTH INDIA SUPER FIGURE" Soundarya come to the village. VIJAYAGANTH falls In love with her and so is Soundarya. Obliviously any one in that remote village will fall in love with a Good-looking girl like Soundarya, which is packed with lots of Horrible looking girls. After couple of Vijayaganth style duets they both decides to get Married and Soundy comes and stays in Vijayaganth's house as her "PATTI" Dies.
After first day of her sisters marriage Vijayaganth comes to know that there is a female in Prakash Raj's house and VIJAYAGANTH is supposed to get married to that female. That's the deal for VIJAYAGANTH sisters marriage and the marriage Broker didn't Say about the deal, as he was worried about his Broker commission. This kind of deal is called as "PONNU KODUTHU PONNU EDUKARADHU" In tamilnadu. Now Our Hero Vijayaganth is put into a situation where he has to choose Between South India Super Figure "Soundarya" or that Ugly Looking Prakash Raj's Sister who knows nothing other than crying. Here is where Bagyaraj's Screen Play Comes into Picture. "SOUNDARYA" Va or "CHAPPA FIGURE" Ra. The Answer to this question is very simple if it was asked to any one of us. How can any one leave a Super Duper NACHU Figure like SOUNDARYA for any other female? Because some Broker Has worked out a Deal. gooder. The movie then revolves around the same story line. Later
SOUNDARYA starts to force VIJAYAGANTH to marry Prakash
Raj's sister thinking about Vijayaganth sister and our hero
refuse because of his good heart. "MAKALLE IDU ELLAM KONJAM
OVER RA THERIYELE". The movie ends as VIJAYAGANTH finds a
ILICHA VAYEE COUSIN who gives life to that female and happily
Joins Soundarya and sings duets again!! VIJAYAGANTH:
The Combination of Vijayaganth and Bagyaraj worked out pretty good in Many Places although they both belong to two Different category. VIJAYAGANTH was back to form after his Super duper Quality movie RAMANA where he was operating some Mainframe screen With Mouse to get hold of Villains. In this movie he comes with Colorful BLUE, ORANGE coats and dance with Soundarya who was equally colorful in Contrast Blue, Yellow, White Sarees. PRAKASH RAJ was outstanding in the movie And he always kept us guessing if he is a Good Guy or a Bad Villain. The Places where Vijayaganth and Prakash Raj meet were Really interesting and the dialogs were really good. Comedy by Gounder and Senthil was Disappointing although senthil gets us to Laugh with his wonderful EUROPEAN HAIR STYLE. SOUNDY was too good and she really fitted very well in the movie. Saree will suit only for few heroines and I have never seen anyone like Soundarya. She is too good in sarees.

"Sokathathangam" is definitely a good mixture of everything and can be really enjoyed by everyone. It's nice to see Bagyaraj in Action again. Soundarya and Prakash Raj were too good and Vijayaganth as usual Did his job. Although the Songs in Dark Blue Costumes were too much for him. It's a big come back for Vijayaganth As his Previous RAMANA was a big hit? Hope we will see Vijayaganth back on Screen again with another hit. When compared to all his fellow Artist he his the only person who is able to stand and give something for the Audience. SOKATHANGAM gets 50/100 for a good story and good acting for couple of good songs.
