"THENALI" New Tamil Movie Revie By "Lollu Express Prabhu"

"Lover Boy" KAMAL, "Jollu Boy" Jayaram, "Cute Baby" Jyothika, "Dream Girl" Devayani, "Matter Girl" Meena, 'Delhi' Ganesh, "Rocket Boy" Ramesh Khanna, Charlie in the latest Comedy Movie "THENALI'. Music by Little Master 'A.R. REHMAN' and the movie directed by K.S. RAVI KUMAR. 'Crazy' MOHAN joins Kamal Again for this entertaining comedy. The movie is running successfully all over India and around the world. The movie was released all over USA and people say that the movie is running better in US rather than in India. The movie was released in COLUMBUS, OHIO on 12th November 2000 and it was a Full show and Unfortunately 250 People returned back home without tickets. STORY:

A comedy based 'KAMALS' encounter which he had proved many times to the world but this time in a different way 'Delhi' Ganesh and Jayaram are Psychiatrist and who are rivals in their Profession. 'Delhi' Ganesh who cant take the success of Jayaram sends 'KAMAL' to Jayarams office to create more problems in his Profession. KAMAL gets introduced as a guy who FEARS for everything talking 'Ceylon' Tamil which most of them didn't understand. The initial encounters between KAMAL and JAYARAM were really nice and Funny. 'KAMAL' saying his old Flash back Story what happened to him. JAYARAM promise KAMAL that he will treat him and make him perfect.

Jayaram who wants to spend some time with his family makes a trip to 'Kodaikanal' with his wife DEVAYANI and his kids. 'Delhi' Ganesh takes Kamal to Kodai and from there the 'Comedy' starts. KAMAL gets into JAYARAM family and Jayaram who wants to spend some personal time gets irritated by KAMAL's action. JOTHIKA gets introduced as sister or JAYARAM and Madan Babu as the person who is going to marry JOTHIKA. Kamal Saves Jothika from few 'Rowdies' and JOTHIKA falls in love with KAMAL. The introduction scene of JOTHIKA was cool and she comes with a SHORTS which is hardly 4 INCH tall and it hardly covers anything and one can have a CLEAR view of her THUNDER THIGS and her 'PANAI STOMACH'. She looks Sexy for sure. The story runs as JAYARAM wants to throw away KAMAL out of Kodaikanal and every time he does that KAMAL manages to come to JAYARAM's place with an innocent face saying some reason. One must see JAYARAM's face the way he express his "ANGER against KAMAL" and at the same time Maintaining his "Soft side" laughing at DEVIYANI and JOTHIKA. Superb JAYARAM.

Day by Day "KAMALS" rupture irritates JAYARAM and when ever he throws him away he gives some reason and gets into Jayaram's house. JOTHIKA who hates Madan Babu gets more close to KAMAL and they start their DUET. Jayaram becomes really Mad when KAMAL hugs JOTHIKA without his knowledge. The height of Comedy was when KAMAL falls on Both JOTHIKA and DEVAYANI and unable to get back and falls again and JAYARAM comes and lifts KAMAL and Kamal again falls on both of them. One must see JAYARAM's reaction and 'Delhi' Ganesh enjoying the Scene seeing JAYARAM suffering !!MY god !!! The theatre was filled with Laughter.

The second half of the movie is like a 'Oliyum Oliyum' where the movie just runs to fill time without much excitement. How long one can see the same sequence of comedy without any story line. Songs come in regular interval and nothing much to say as the songs are Very ordinary songs and there is no A.R. REHMAN touch in any songs. At last KAMAL gets cured and MEENA comes in one scene and Hugs KAMAL and goes. So One Extra Hug for KAMAL with another Heroine and the movie ends as JAYARAM understands his mistake.

KAMALAHASSAN:

Kamal comes out with a very different style of acting and he is always the best. This movie he talks a weird Ceylone Tamil which is enjoyable as well as irritating. Many were confused what he way trying to say and the diaglogs were not upto the mark. KAMAL and 'CRAZY' MOHAN combination has always worked out and I would say they were pretty Ok in this movie. One thing i liked about KAMAL was he was Handsome. He does not look like 47 and he is far better looking than any new generation heros. Also he Had Good 'AMUKS' with Heroines as he always does in his movie. Fortunately there was no kiss scenes like the one in HEY RAM. But other than that all regular ROMANCE scene in KAMAL movies was there. Acting wise he was ok and one cannot expect more in a story like this.

JAYARAM:

JAYARAM was the best in the movie. He comes out with a great comical performance as he always do in his other movie. I think we are not giving him proper opportunity in movies. 50% success depends on JAYARAM. Especially the scene in which KAMAL and DEVAYANI goes below a Table and JAYARAM thinks that they boot are kissing each other and his face expressions was really good. One more funny scene was 'INTERVIEW SCENE' when people from RAJ TV asks about his Success story as doctor and KAMAL comes in the middle and overtakes the interview scene and tells his Sad story and JAYARAM reaction for that!! My GOD !! He is a real talented artist. I think people laughed a lot of JAYARAM when compared to anyone in the movie. A master piece for him. His great performance in movies like MURAI MAMAN and this movie cannot be forgot forever. A great Comedy hero who can be enjoyed !! Keep it up JAYARAM.

JOTHIKA & DEVAYANI, MEENA:

Jothika who was a "ALL INDIA MID RANGE FIGURE" before is looking Cute these days although she has a 'BEER THOPAI" which is hanging in her stomach. Her costumes were really colorful and make her look more sexy. Especially when she comes in Shorts and shows her thighs she looks SEXY. No questions. Now i know why there are lots of fans for her. But one thing is for sure. She really looks good in Modern Dress with those American Slippers. KAMAL had a good 'AMUKS' with both JOTHIKA and DEVIYANI in this movie and i think he will be satisfied with it. JOTHIKA was good at what she was doing in this movie with good Facial expressions and at acting too. Good Job JOTHIKA. DEVAYANI has lost weigh and looks like a "Early 30's Auntie". Hope the directors of KODAMBAKKAM are having a close watch at her. MEENA is becoming big and especially when she runs towards Kamal to hug him and when the CAMERA focus her from the back Side. BACK VIEW IS BIG!!!

LOLLU COMMENTS:

The movie is just another movie to laugh. With strong star value like Kamal, A.R. REHMAN, JAYARAM I expected much better one. JAYARAM was outstanding. JOTHIKA was cool and hope she comes with One or Two Inch Shorts in all her movies so that it will be a feast for us. She has to reduce her BEER STOMACH which is hanging in her body, She has already got TWO Tires in her Hips and looks really good in Modern dress. Of course Stomach tires are required in Tamil industry.

KAMAL who want to do something after his big Commercial Flop "HEY RAM" although it was a great movie comes out with a Light subject which is a Comedy based one. For sure its a commercial hit movie and will fetch the result what he expected. All houses are full shows in places like BOSTON, SFCO, CHICAGO, DALLAS and even small cities like COLUMBUS, CINCINNATI where people went back without tickets. For sure HEY RAM didn't have this crowd response in USA. I am not pretty sure about other places in the world and please do write to LOLLU EXPRESS regarding your comment and the response from crowd for THENALI.

I never thought that A.R. REHMAN can do such a bad job with his Music. After the movie was over i double checked if the music director was A.R. REHMAN, Big disappointment. There is nothing to say about K.S. RAVI KUMAR. 'Crazy' Mohan's dialogs were good at few places and "Kadi' at many places. KAMAL was looking good and i don't know how he is able to maintain his looks. I really consider him as a Model. I grade this movie as a Ordinary comedy movie and its worth movie to watch and laugh and forget and nothing special about to say. Lollu Express grades this movie to be 60/100 and a movie for good time pass.
