"THIRUVILAYADAL" - BAKTHI MOVIE REVIEW BY "YOUR PRABHU"

"NADIGAR THILAGAM" SHIVAJI GANESAN, "SUPER GIRL" SAVITHRI, "ANDHAI KANNAN" (OWL) MUTHU RAMAN, "MADURAI MODEL" DEVIKA, "KANAVU KANNI" K.P. SUNDARAMBAL, BALAIYA, NAGESH in a Super Duper Hit movie of last century "THIRUVILAYADAL" (EAST MAN COLOR) Music by K.V. MAHADEVAN. Enjoy my Review on LOLLU Classic collections "THIRUVILAYADAL".

OVERVIEW:

I still remember the days when i was in India there will be one Month in a Year Called "MARGAZHI". Its some thing like FALL Month or SPRING Month in US. If that MARGAZHI month comes that's it. No one in Madras can Study or Sleep or concentrate on any thing. There will be Speakers hanging in front of your house and those speakers will be in a Cone Shape normally painted in Blue or Violet Color and it will have a stamp called K.R Sound System or M.J Sound System and all that it does is Play "THIRUVILAYADAL" audio cassette Three Times a Day. No one can ask any question to the guy who is Playing that Audio. If you ask some thing the VOLUME will increase the next day. Why i am saying this story is "When i saw the movie yesterday all the dialogs are in My heart ". Its really nice to see such movie again and it gives you a sort of Pleasure and happiness!!!

STORY:

The story starts in a big way. A Man with a Goat Head and a Man with Elephant Head along with Six Ugly guys wearing a Red Lungi and who are dark in color and to make them more beautiful they have painted they body with COAL POWDER (Kari Powder) and who have two Horns in their head all of them beating some musical Instruments like TABLA, GANJIRA and creating music like BACK STREET BOYS and 20 JACKET LESS 30 Years old Auntie's Dancing for the music. The music went for 10 Minutes and i got a doubt that I got some OLD MUSIC CONCERT and its not THIRUVILAYADAL.

At last SHIVAJI comes with a SNAKE in his Neck with a BLUE COLOR Powder in his body with THREE PATTAIS of Thiru Noor on his fore head and his hair folded into Three Layers and it looks exactly like a "WENDYS CHICKEN BURGER" with a TIGER SKIN LEATHER SHORTS without a Shirt along with SAVITHRI who was wearing a weird Saree which is a mixture of SAREE & CHUDI and some Rajastan Glass on the saree with a Skin Color Full hand Jacket with lots and lots of Gold Ornament etc etc. and both of them walking as if they are walking in a "FASHION PARADE" in MADISON SQUARE GARDEN. Then their Two sons (MURUGA & VINAYAGA) joins and they four gives a Family Pose in a place which looks like a Dance Floor in Kansas City with lots and lots of Steam and clouds around them.

A Villan so called as "NARADHAR" who basically does the Job our "SUBRAMANIYA SWAMY" brings a Fruit which he bought in "AMINJIKARAI PLATFORM". I think its some Orange or Mango which you get for 50 Paise in India and says that its a Powerful fruit (GANA PAZAM). These two kids fight for that stupid fruit that NARADHAR gave and they will be shouting and crying and howling for that fruit. SAVITHRI who is a good Mom like DEMMI MOORE In STRIPTIES does' nt like her kids fighting for the FRUIT and asks them to eat half half. But SHIVAJI says that a FRUIT from AMINJIKARAI market must be eaten fully and you must not break into piece as FLYS and MOSQUITOES will come if you break the fruit into two.

And there comes the competition. NARADAR keeps a running race. Its not the regular 100M or 400 M or 10 MILES like Marathon. For a simple 50 Paise ORANGE he asks the sad kids to make a round around the world. MURUGA who is a Poor Kid boards LUFTHANSA Airways From MADRAS and some how reaches LONDON and then makes a Connection in LONDON and reaches NEW YORK and then to NAGANO, JAPAN and Via SINGAPORE he reaches MADRAS again. Sad guy he has to wait for one Full day in JFK because of the FLIGHT DELAYS and Air Traffic in SINGAPORE. His brother VINAYAGA is a smart kid. He works out a formulae using TRAVELLING SALES MAN ROUTE and makes a round in seconds and gets the fruit.

MURUGA who was tired after the Security check in Madras Airport some how manages to come out and asks the fruit. Where the hell he will the get the fruit its in VINAYAGAR Stomach. His Brother who has a Elephant head and a Tail and who looks like a Teddy bear. MURUGA gets irritated and gets out of his house and the real fun starts. An old lady (K.P SUNDARAMBAL) starts to sing. She will be wearing a MAJANTHA cotton saree and she will be having a walking stick and starts her famous song,

No Song or advice can stop MURUGA's Anger. So her mom starts to tell stories about their family. What and all his father has done in past. Three to four flash back comes.

First Flash back is "ANDHAI KANNAN" MUTHURAMAN and DEVIKA. Muthuraman who is the king of Madurai and Devika who is the queen. Muthuraman who smells Devika's head and gets a BIG DOUBT. The doubt is "DOES FEMALS HEAD HAS A NATURAL FRAGRANCE OR NOT" ..... Aha what doubt. Just think how our KINGS who ruled India has wasted their time and brain and Money. He announces 1000 Gold Dollar who clears his doubt.

Nagesh comes into picture who is a Poor poet and the way he has done that part was simply superb. SIVAJI who tries to help NAGAESH and Nagesh in turn asks who are you.

Sivaji replies in his famous tone (Hope everyone knows what is SIVAJI's tone)

Then a Competition comes who is the big Jollu ....... Nagesh Asks few Questions to Sivaji Like

..... The story ends as another fight goes between SIVAJI and NAKIRAN..... and all those comedy and Nagesh getting that 1000 Gold coins.

There are another three flash backs in the story. All three are real Galij like Sivaji Fighting with a big Sea Whale, The whale is a real big one like the one in San Antonio Sea World. A song competition between Sivaji and Balayia and atlast the movie ends with MURUGAN understanding the fault and joins his family and the place from that day was called as "PALANI" where people goes to put their MOTTAI .....

SIVAJI GANESHAN:

A real super duper actor on Tamil Cinema. Each and every character he did in his Movie career are really amazing. You can list 100's of movies .. One can say that his body also acts! Each and every Vasanams he deliver with his facial expressions are really superb, I would say one must see his movies and get a feel what Acing is and how a actor must act. Not only in this movie his super hits like PASA MALAR, VIRA PANDIYA KATA BOMAN, KAPAL OTIYA THAMIZAN, MANOHARA till his MUDAL MARIYADAI ..... he is really a Super Actor and he deserves the Title "NADIGAR THILAGAM" Lollu Express wishes all the best to DR. SAVITHRI & DEVIKA:

Of course DEVIKA is the Most beautiful female of 60's and 70's. My god in this movie she was toooo good. Her neat face with her flat Bottu really impressed me. I wonder why her daughter didnt get that good look. SAVITHRI is also a wonderful artist. But i still wonder how these females were able to manage their show being like a small Elephant. Almost all the artist were like that in 60's and 70's!! Savithri Gemini Ganesan "Koduthu Vaithavan"....

LOLLU COMMENTS :

An Excellent Comedy. It was really nice to see TIGER SKIN SHORTS and SNAKES hanging with DANCE FLOOR environment and our SIVAJI doing his CAT WALK with his TIGER SHORTS with a weird hair style. But thats how it works and thats how he made his fans to fall in his feet. If i want to say about SIVAJI i need to write another THREE pages. I will do it separately in my article section.

Ever the artist who acted with Sivaji were excellent. Good Make up and ultimate songs by Sirgali Govindarajan, K.P Sundarmbal although it seems funny these days. Especially that

"PATTUM NANNE PADALUM NANNE"
PADUM UNNAI NAAN PADAL ARINDENE.....
NAN ASIYNDAL ASYUM AGILAM ELLAME ....

song .... by SIVAJI .... it takes you to another world... Good movie and a great change for anyone who are used to watching some masala movies I heartly grade this movie 90/100 for saying what?s happening in Heaven, What was the history of Lord Muruga, Lord Vinayaga, Lord Naradar ... and for the wonderful setup and for the make up.
