/ Message" movie "VETRIK KODI
KATTU". The movie projects the difficulties poor
people face because of their "Foreign Dreams''
loosing their money and also advice us to work in our country and
be happy. Music by Deva and directed by Cheran. Enjoy my review
on new Tamil Movie "VETRIK KODI KATTU".
STORY:
Yet another movie which does not deal with LOVE SUBJECT
or Fancy Dance in CHICAGO Downtown with Cooling Glass and Jeans
Pant or Harley Davidson Bike in SWITZERLAND Grass fields or a
Dance in SYDNEY with Kangaroos. The movie is taken in a
dry village projecting the feelings of two Guys who are
struggling in their village and who wants to go to DUBAI to earn
more money and bring their family to a good position.
"CHERAN" who has proved himself to be a great director
has proved again in this movie with a different subject called
"FOREIGN DREAMS" of Uneducated guys.
"ANAND RAJ" whose Primary Job is doing "Body
Shopping" to countries like DUBAI, OMAN, UGANDA,
SOMALIYA, SUDAN, 
ZAIRE, PERU and "GOPAL PAL
PODI" Countries like BURMA, BUTAN, SRI LANKA, BANGALADESH
etc. He has big link with companies like New York STOCK
EXCHANGE, MCI, AT&T, USA BELL, AMERICAN ELECTRIC POWER,
SPRINT etc. All that he does is provide Consultants to these
companies! Fortunately not Software Consultants.
Parthiban and Murali gives One Lack Rupees to that Middle Man who
promise them to get their VISA to DUBAI. Parthiban who marries
MEENA who belongs to a Rich family against the wish of her dad
"Polar Bear" VIJAYAKUMAR and who are struggling to find
their way to get settled in their life. Parthi has Two Sisters.
MALAVIKA is one among them who looks really cute. MEENA gives all
her Gold chain and PARTHI somehow manages to get ONE LACK Rupee
to give to that CONSULTANT to take him to DUBAI. It more of a
Prestige issue for both PARTHI and MEENA who wants to live a
Lavish Life before her dad who lives in the same village and who
is against their LOVE MARRIAGE. The same is the
case with Mural's Family. A widow Mom (MANORAMMA), Two Sisters
and a typical Village Poor family. They have sold all their
FarmLands to get the money they needed to give to that MIDDLEMAN.
ANAND RAJ promises them that their VISA will be ready by the next
day and they can board "BRITISH AIRWAYS" or
"LUFTHANSA AIRWAYS" or KLM to go to DUBAI. But
they were literally cheated by him. They both think that if they
go to their respective village they have to face the words of
their family members and relatives. PARTHI decides to go to
MURALI's family and MURALI decides to go to PARTHI's family to
say some good words and to maintain that they are living Happily
in DUBAI. One must see the acting of MEENA after seeing her
husband's friend and MANORAMMA after seeing her sons friend
thinking that they are in DUBAI. REAL TOUCH OF CLASS. Meena goes
to the opposite house of Vijayakumars (Her dads) and shows her
saree and says "IT MY HUSBANDS OWN EARNED MONEY and
the SAREE IS FROM DUBAI" and VijayaKumars Love
Looks after seeing her daughter being so happy etc etc and at the
same time MANORAMMA crying after seeing PARTHIBAN and hearing
that he is happy over there !! Really Touching Scenes.
Meanwhile Parthi Starts his Own Milk business with Murali's
family and Murali Starts a fast food business with Parthi's
family and they become big. Meanwhile Murali falls in love with
Malavika and the story ends with a Very strong message to the
Public that Please dont think that "FOREIGN countries are
the Countries" to earn money. We can do wonders in India
also. So Done get cheated by Middle man companies and do your
best in Our Country itself. EXCELLENT ENDING and A GREAT
MESSAGE.
PARTHIBAN:
I would say if there was some one other than PARTHIBAN and MEENA
in this role the movie would have had only 50% of the effect they
gave in this movie. I think "PARTHIBAN" is one Great
Talent we have in KODAMBAKKAM. He gets so much involved in his
acting and Character which "ALL THE NEW HEROS"
fail to do. I really appreciate his acting talents
especially when he does Strong characters like the one in this
movie, In BHARADI KANNAMMA etc, In This movie Meena Who was
pregnant gives birth to a beautiful Baby girl. Parthi who could
not come to see her although he is hiding in the next town and
the way he feels for it and says sharp dialogs to the public
saying that WHAT FUN WE HAVE BEING OUTSIDE THE COUNTRY
not able to see our relatives and not able to be with YOUR WIFE
WHEN she is going be a mom with his ROWDI and SAD TONE. PARTHIBAN
where is Your LEG. My 1000 Madras Whistle to you PARTHI.
MEENA, MURALI, CHARLIE & OTHERS:
MEENA is too good. She has lost her weight and She looks like a
Goddess. Man I was Jollufying like anything after seeing her.
Especially that "KARUPU" song by AnuRadha SreeRam with
Meena Dancing in her traditional Tamil Sarees !! She is Too good
and the best looking heroine in Kodambakkam. The scene in which
MEENA and VIJAYKUMAR meets are really touching and TOUCH of Class
by Cheran. MURALI has done his job with Great involvement and so
was Charlie. MALAVIKA looks really sweet. MANORAMMA and VADIVELU
were excellent. The scene in which VADIVELU and PARTHI meet are
full of "LOLLU LOLLU LOLLU" !! Lollu Ke Lolla
!!
LOLLU COMMENTS:
The Story is an excellent story with a good Message to public.
CHERAN is an Outstanding director who is becoming big and all his
movies are really different with some message in it. A good
example is his BHARATHI KANNAMMA! An excellent movie. I think
that movie was little bit dragging but each and every scene was
made with lots and lots of involvement ! Both Director and Artist
have given their best and I think the movie must be rewarded for
its story line and excellent Screen play although the movie
didn't entertain with Catchy Dance and Love Scenes.
My comment about settling in a foreign country is different. I
think people must be allowed to go and do what ever they want to
do if they are in a right direction. I love my country and I love
my relatives and I love to be in My Place. But think over ! We
are educated and we have lots and lots of opportunity to be
around, See places and earn money, The money we are earning are
going to go back to our country and our family. If some one comes
to me and say that "WE used our countries education and we
are not serving for our country" I will never agree to it.
We Earn money outside our country and we Send it back to our
country. Just imagine guys who stay here in USA send atleast
$1000 back to our country ! So in that way our Country is
benefited. So I strongly support and encourage "EDUCATED
GUYS" to go around the world and earn money for their family
and for their country for the welfare of our NATION. There is
nothing wrong in it.
But at the same time I really feel sorry for those who go to
countries like DUBAI believing some Stupid middle man who promise
them to get good job. I know what People like them do over there.
Its like the Poor MEXICAN community in USA who do Poor job
working in Hotels, Mc DONALDS, WENDYS who gets paid really low
salary. I Want to ask one question! As the message said in this
movie
"WHAT FUN DO U GET BEING ALONE WORKING As a CLEANER OR
WAITER" in DUBAI. Rather you can start a small business or a
small shop and be happy with ur family. My comment is You can go
our of our Country only when you are educated and you are well
Respected in the country you go. Please write your comments to me

Time to grade this movie. To me I liked the movie . An excellent
message said in a hard way with lots and lots of touching family
scenes. Please do take the advice and act accordingly. Movies
like this comes once in a while and i request directors in
Kodambakkam to take more movies like this rather than catching
the HIPS and LIPS of SIMRAN and MEENA. Three Cheers to PARTHIBAN
for his touch of Class acting. CHERAN is an outstanding
director in Kodambakkam and i wish this movie must be awarded ! I
grade the movie to be 80/100 for its excellent story line and
great screen play. A little bit of dragging in the middle must
have been avoided and songs were not pleasing
