India(there are millions of educatedpeople)are equally
intelligent.With those intelligent people the government

I found living abroad.
a) People leave to abroad for two reasons
i) Make money
ii) To build a carrer they cant get in India.
Why make money? Eternal question to which I donthave proper
answer. Partially to satisfy the neverending desire/needs. Why
build a carrer? To makemoney/to help people. The second reason is
noble.
b) Saving/Sending money
There are only a few people who live lavishly andsend the
remaining money home. Others who save moneygenerally apply a
function of 40 before spending.
By sending more dollars to India we are acutallydegrading our
economy. The inflow of dollars drivesoutrupees. A countrys
currency will loose its value ifitsoutflow decreases. This is a
law in Economics. Pls chk'balance of payments accounts' topic for
more info.Eg: People will have more disposable income bcoz
theyget dollars/dinars from someone outside. Now 2 thingshappen.
a) People will not hesitate to pay more forsomethingwhich they
can get for less. They just dont care as they get more money. Eg:
A 'kal tumbler' cofee inBangalroe costs Rs 5. Watery juices are
priced at Rs25and above. Leads to 'HYPERFLATION'.
b) More demand will lead to more production whichwill after
sometime result in hike in prices.('BOOM'followed by 'Inflation'
will lead to 'TROUGH'. Afterthat it takes quite a while
for an economy toregulate.
Bottomline: Few people really get good employment tolive happily
and send money home. For the rest it isa kind of ritual than
privilege.Fortunately most of usin the list are in those few.

We were having the same discussion Last week here in Columbus in
myfriendsPlace. His name is Ganesh. Actually we saw this movie
together and we were talking about the same topic. He
said thatTVS SCOOTY is sold for 32,000 RS which was 16,000 RS
when i came to USA.That is4 years back. Man i can
believe that there will be a 100% Raise in aproduct in4 Years, It
seems the reason they gaveis because we guys does not care for
anything when we go to India. We spendmoney like anything. Food,
Travel, 5 Star Hotels etc etc and the money we spendover there is
Peanuts for us ! So we are the solereason for making the Rupee
value to get down, I really appreciate BALAJItobring this topic

for which there is no adequate demand. Whathappens when u have
1000 cell phones to sell and nobody buys? Cell phone looses its
value. Rupee Devaluesand depriciates against dollar. In order for
Reservebank to get gold, it needs to trade dollar againstrupee
value. Rupee value dicatates how much gold willbe given. In order
to increase Rs value govenrmentputsrestrictions on amt of $ a
person can carry (whiletravelling), levies taxes heavily for
foreignexchange/NRNR accounts etc etc. A government cant simply
generate gold/printmoney to appreciate its currency against
another.

move is a short term effect. Whenpeople declare their accounts,
govt can track thetransactions. In 5 yrs it will announce a
partialwithdrawl of tax and details are eventually
withgovernment. People cant fool around. Look now all software
export companies startedby mid 90's are expected to pay more tax
and thegovt has already removed > 5% of the subsidy given.By

Here you goBalaji, you might be right in a way but we need to
reconcile all thepossible factors here :-Flow of Forex into an
economy eg $ increases local supply of the same,hence the simple
supply/demand curve takes over in the near term and theLocal
currency appreciates against the Foreign currency and in this
case Reappreciates against $.
Secondly, in the longer term, increased Forex availability in the
localeconomy also increases local currency availability in the
local economy.The Central bank (Reserve) bank takes the foreign
currency & gives himlocal currency to spend in the local
economy. This increases money supplyin the local economy. This
will, in the slightly longer term lead toincreased inflation
which over a period of time depreciates the localcurrency against
the foreign currency.
There is a third factor also, increased Money supply (Local
currency)affects interest rates southward...i.e Interest rates
come down.. hence theoverall economy gains... This is an even
more longer term... Leading toincreased profits for corporates
& increased spending capacity of thecommon public... This
will help the economy to grow & help the localcurrency
strengthen against the Foreign currency..
Hence u see there is just not only one effect...Ok guys, let's

happening in India is different,we are getting more money flow

The state spends money for our subsidized education; if we work

Sending money helps only therelatives or parents ie. the
beneficiaries; they'll have good time & maybuy property. They
help prices to shoot up. The sufferers are commonpeople.Kerala is
a shining example; now, our Tamilnadu has also followed suit.
What's wrong with taking up some temporary jobs like cleaning,
serving etc.to make both ends meet? Here, there is minimum wages
& none looks down uponthose who do physical work. The need is
more for physical work, manpower.All are useful not only the

N.America is no India! Here, people do their duties with rightful
pride &joy.No sulking!

Go and work in middle east as a labourer then you'll know the
treatment.Working in US as a white collor job you can say
whatever you like.The story is about people who goto middle east
or foreign countriesfor a labour class. They are not given enough
money and also theyare not treated properly and most of the cases
they are cheated.The movie is a good example how people are
getting cheated becauseof their crazy about foreign. In the past
movies given a wrongpicture of uneducated hero going to foreign
country and coming back in Car in few years. It's not possible in
reality.Everyone things wrong going to middle easy they can earn
very welland have comfortable life.
Even if they are not cheated and happens to go to middleeasy they
are given lower wages, treated badly and workingoutside in the
